I heard that Matt Long is now an assistant volleyball coach at Notre Dame. Anyone know if that's true?

Yes it was announced yesterday that Jen Woolf is unfortunately having to take a leave of abscence and Andrea, the current assistant coach, will be the Head coach and Matt will be assisting her.

That is a shame . Lets hope and pray that everything will turn out alright with Ms Woolf .

New locker rooms, weight room, air conditioning and MATT LONG all in one season?...wow...NDA is making huge improvements in a hurry!

I am very happy to learn that Matt stepped up to help out a friend and fellow coach in her time of need. Hats off to Matt.

Matt was looking forward to spending some time with his young family and taking the season off. He didn't go looking for a position at Notre Dame and has only taken it to help out. Let's hope that Jen Woolf is in good health and back on bench soon.

Matt Long has stepped up to help out with a difficult situation and should be commended. Unless everyone knows the reason for him to fill in for Coach Woolf they should probably leave this thread alone. Even I know everything isn't meant to be discussed on BGPs. Good luck to everyone involved.

Whatever the reasons for Jen stepping aside right now, we hope and pray all is well with her and her family and that she's back coaching soon.
