Yes, my mistake, but 40% is still a lot too.

Although Holmes hit 5 threes, 23.8% isn't going to help, and almost 75% of their attempts were from 3. They don't shoot as well out there this year so far.

They don't have zonebusters Riley and D. Johnson this year. I don't think their outside shooting is as good as last year.

I was wondering where Egan was. What happened. Holy Cross was small.

I think I would play zone against Holmes too.

This is a surprise to me.

20-19 Boone at half. Holy Cross sat in a 3-2 zone the whole game. Earls had a big second half down low for Boone. Boone grabbed an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter, and held the ball until Holy Cross had to come out and pressure/foul, after which Boone got several easy baskets. Holy Cross hit lots of 3s. Cotton, Popp, and Montgomery also played pretty well for Boone.

Good win for Highlands.

Pretty sure Earls and Popp from Boone have D2/D3 looks as well.

That's what was said last year, and they finished 6th and gave Holmes the scare of their life in the regional championship. They are definitely top 12 to 20.

If McGovney is #5, I think he played quite a bit and took at least a couple of three point shots and missed them. He wasn't able to penetrate against Boone's guards. Looks like he will be a good player in a couple of years.

Total domination by Boone from start to finish. 20-2 Boone after the first quarter. Jolly was a non-factor for Campbell. Boone had good balance. 9 players scored. Montgomery, Cotton, Lay, Popp, Earls all looked good. Campbell County had no answer for Boone inside. Boone could score inside at will and played stifling defense.

I guess this will put Boone back up to #3 ahead of NC in the NKY rankings, provided Boone defeats Campbell and Holy Cross this week.

Did Campbell defend Pangallo and his 3-point shots well? It would appear so from the box score.

Believe Boone County's Gabbard was also getting interest from Army.

Same can/has often been said for Boone. It only takes one player not setting a screen or not being in their spot for a play to break down. I see very few unselfish players set screens in high school basketball. Most are concerned with getting their points.

Earls - virus. Popp too. He has been ill the last couple of games.

Boone wins easily without Earls and Popp. Montgomery and Brown had good games for Boone.

Good point. Polson seems to continue to get props too as a top player in the state, although he was outplayed by both of Boone County's guards in their game. Outside the big three Holmes players, not many other 9th region players get recognition statewide. The 7th, 11th, and 9th regions are the toughest in the state overall and it would stand to reason that they have more of the top teams and more of the top players.

Very good dunk! I agree this is their most athletic/quickest lineup. Rebounding MIGHT be a bit of a problem, but if they get more shots/possession, that might not matter as much.

The top 5 performers for Boone so far are Cotton, Gabbard, Montgomery, Popp, and Lays. Then McQueary and Brown. Earls play has been much below many people's expectations so far. Hopefully he'll step it up.

I don't think Boone will change from the style they have played the last couple of years. If I'm a coach, I start trying something different after the NCC upset. Hope they bounce back against Conner and that they have everyone healthy. Apparently, Popp was sick just prior to the last game and therefore, didn't play much and had some turnovers. Earls missed a couple of games from an ankle sprain, and Schulze is coming back from an injury. Not sure if all of those 3 are 100% right now.
