Total domination by Boone from start to finish. 20-2 Boone after the first quarter. Jolly was a non-factor for Campbell. Boone had good balance. 9 players scored. Montgomery, Cotton, Lay, Popp, Earls all looked good. Campbell County had no answer for Boone inside. Boone could score inside at will and played stifling defense.

Like last year, Boone's D will keep them in the hunt. They made Conner look like a JV squad offensively Friday night.

Boone continues to play well after the loss to NCC.

A big letdown for the Camels tonight after last night's miracle finish. Also, PG Jordan Smith left the game early on after falling on his wrist. He left for the hospital before halftime. Does anyone have any update on his status?

Somebody told me tonight that the Frosh McGovney doesnt even dress JV and plays maybe 5-7 minutes of Varsity only. This seems absurd to me, either start the kid on the Varsity level or start him in JV and bring him off the bench in Varsity. That kid needs to be on the floor more.

I agree. McGovney is a tough kid and had a huge summer with KY Elite.

I agree. McGovney also looked very strong against Brossart when in there. Offensive threat plus good rebounding guard.

I agree with you. You don't bring a freshman up to varsity only unless they are starting or playing a significant amount of time. Surprised the shepard has not taken off on this point.

If this is indeed factual, someone is not managing this kid's development correctly whatsoever. You can only learn and develop on the floor. He is not getting adequate time if he's only getting 5-7 minutes/game.

Agreed, if that is indeed the case with McGovney? Good parallel would be Saunders at Brossart, who starts JV and then normally leaves at the JV half or early in the 2nd half to head to the varsity locker room; where he has earned a significant role as part of the Varsity rotation. Neither Brossart or Campbell traditionally play many freshmen on varsity, but if you're going to bring the kid up; then this would seem to be the better way to handle his development?

Glad to see Saunders at BB developing. He and Mcgovney are former AAU teammates.

If McGovney is #5, I think he played quite a bit and took at least a couple of three point shots and missed them. He wasn't able to penetrate against Boone's guards. Looks like he will be a good player in a couple of years.

I say give him more varsity minutes. The amount of time he gets on the floor is sporatic at best. One game he plays 40% and the next 20%. In the Brossart game it seemed like they had him sit almost the whole 3rd quarter. He looked more pumped up and excited about that game than most of the other Camel players. Once again I go back to the old "stick with the same lineup". Doesn't matter what grade level you are in. If you are one of the best five on the team then you should be on the floor. PERIOD!
