In the 8th Shelby and Walton come to mind first because of what's returning. Trimble is a team to look out for as they match up with Shelby well and are a matchup problem for Walton. I would also throw Gallatin into the mix as a scary team I wouldn't want to play come region time. Simon and Anderson are always competitive. Region truly is wide open unless mass transfers go to a team.

Why Simon if they lost all starters? Did they get all the transfers that were rumored?

Coaches I know say they email other coaches to nominate their players, but from my understanding you cannot vote your own player. It's up to other coaches to put them on their ballot. Furthermore I agree with Archie evaluating players during the season would give a more accurate read than watching tryouts that do not include any teamwork and are chaotic from lack of team play. It may show athleticism but that's about it in my opinion after watching the last 8 years of tryouts. I would also say players that played in the state tourny probably get the benefit of the doubt when making the team because of team exposure. Not criticizing any coaches, players or others involved as I appreciate them putting this on and giving girls opportunities.!

Did he coach at St. Henry about 5 years ago?

I look for oldham over Henry and I would not be surprised to see the Anderson vs Walton Verona game be closer than most expect.

Shelby will be very good next year possibly the Region favorite. I've seen the Dossett kid the pg play against d1 players and size just fine.Looked like she had a off half, but if she has her sisters size she would be writing her ticket. It was nice not to see a blowout for the fans sake. Shelby certainly has nothing to hang their head about. Great effort and game by both.

Got to see this game. If you are not hitting shots you will not beat Holy Cross. They are huge and the matchup 3/2 Is tough to score on. Hard to get anything inside and hard to press their point and bigs as they can throw over.

I would agree. Got to see Newport Central Catholic a few times and they are definite top 5. Possibly as high as #2. Also got to seek Etown and they are legit #1. Feel like North Bullit and Notre Dame a little high right now. Just my unbiased opinion but as u said it's a crap shoot.

I read in the Cats Pause the Reed girl that transfered and played basketball at Owen Co is back. Then I hear she left right after Owen got beat in the region and went back to Magoffin and played softball in the all a state for them. Reading about others transferring not being elgible how did this happen with no lost year?
