Wish Rayven Shead would of at least been invited to tryout, I think she could've made a difference.

My comment is not directed at the kids, but the results speak loudly of the selection process in my opinion when the best player in that class is not involved.

And who would that be?

There are going to be a lot of players decline the invites if things continue on the same path as this year. Mark it down. I posted this in another thread, there are some players and parents already talking about this........unless the lions club clean this up nobody is gonna want to play.

I think having the best player in the state (Maci Morris) on the team would have helped more than someone who wasn't good enough to be invited. No offense to Rayven Shead, a good player but not All Star material. With Morris on the team, they probably would only lost by 20 instead of 30!

For those of us on the outside, what do they need to clean up?

Keep the politics out of the selection process and pick the best players......

Any idea why Morris didn't make the team?

She made the team, but was not one of the "core six" selected to play in both games. I assume she declined at that point, which I don't blame her.

Sorry, but that sounds like sour grapes at its finest. Chosen for an All Star team but not in both so she turns it all down?

Sounds like a decision the parents made or helped her make which is too bad. High School happens once. Take the honors as you get them and have fun with them. Life is way way too short to start turning down gifts.

Sour grapes? I can't speak for the Morris family, but I can assure you there are no sour grapes. The fact of the matter is, more and more kids are declining invites to these things due to the politics involved. And yes, I know for a fact that politics has been a factor in the process before. You are correct, these things are an honor...............when the best kids are chosen. Right now in the softball side of things, many of the best kids in the state are not included in the Jr/Sr East/West All Star games due to their affiliation with a certain club team......but that's for another thread.

Who were the "Core Six" picked for Kentucky?

I beg to differ on your not all star material comment. But ok.
