If you will recall Corbin had one of the lopsided victories against South as well. By the way, 3 points is hardly a sound win. It is a win, however. In the regional championship Corbin had SL down by 13 and on the ropes most of the game then they shot themselves in the foot. South is very beatable but anything can happen. That is why you play the ball game. Both teams better be ready to play . . . it is anybody's game.

June Buchanan was out before regionals. They will not be in attendance.

Cumberland and Pineville were out before regionals. They will not be in attendance this year.

And my point is that I know these coaches and kids --- they will learn and return.

Why because I said the Redhounds will learn and grow from this? Seems like posters were doing a whole lot of blame throwing. The fact is we came up short. It happens, has happened and will happen to every team once in awhile. The true character of a team is shown when they can pick themselves up, learn from their mistakes and move on. The Redhounds are just that kind of team. We don't need a crystal ball or to be a prophet to see that. GO HOUNDS!

I suppose you are a prophet or own a crystal ball? We will learn and return stronger and better for it. Geez, being 2nd best in the region is nothing to sneeze about, lighten up! Coach P is young and Steve Wright is just a figure head because Roscoe is actually the play guy. Corbin kids played with heart they just happened to come up short. And by the way, they must have found a way to win because they made it to the finals---I don't know many teams that find a way to lose and get in the finals.

Corbin loses 4 seniors in Barley, Cashen, Madon and Rogers. However, there were many good players that never received playing time because of the skill of the starters. Corbin will still have some weapons in upcoming sophomores, juniors and senior class. Corbin needs to make better shot selection and calm down when they are ahead. We shot ourselves in the foot last night.

Corbin wins and gets the monkey(or should I say cardinal) off of their back. I think the Hounds win last night will give them more motivation and momentum. They will be tired but fiesty!

Home court advantage is a bit of a concern but I think the Hounds are playing their best ball of the season and they advance in a close one. GO HOUNDS!!!!

It is just another term batted around in academia that describes the Depth Of Knowledge one must have in order to successfully answer a given question. The higher the DOK level the more critical thinking that is required to answer it. It really doesn't have to be difficult just require more than recall to answer it. Teachers are asked to develop questions on various DOK levels so that they are better prepared to critically think on the CATS test. I think it is just one more way the testing companies are getting money.

I think that one might have been even closer to a DOK4 IMO.

How can you say the Tigers hustled more than the Redhounds? The Redhounds played with their heart and soul last night. The Hounds came to play as they will continue to do. It was a well deserved victory for the boys. GO HOUNDS!!!!

If ANY of our team gets hot with threes tonight you may have to turn the lights out on the Tigers season. We have several kids that can step up and play and I fully believe they will have fire in their bellies tonight. GO HOUNDS!!

Corbin advances but in a hard fought game.

Its almost over. Clay county led by as much as a dozen and Jackson cut it down to 4 (59-55)points with less than minute left. 19.2 seconds are now remaining after a foul shot. It is now 60-55 with 15.9 seconds left. Clay county is at the line and missed it. Ball rebounded by Brumbeck of Jackson County. Riley (Clay county) was fouled and made both shots. The game is over 62-55 Clay County. Tigers are 49th district champs.

I've been teaching for 11 years and I've NEVER gotten a 2-3 month Summer holiday. We are expected to get 30 hours PD; prepare lessons for the upcoming year, and get rooms ready. This translates to maybe a 3-4 week break over the summer. NOT 2-3 months. Our summer time hours are more flexible but they are not less.:madman:
