Amen. It would have taken more than a little rain to keep the fans away. They used the weather to their advantage ---they know it ----and they will have to live with the comments . . . . it could have and should have been played last night. We will come ready tomorrow though, you can bet your sweet bippy on that one.

Exactly! Seems like the Cards were trying to rest up from some hard fought games in the Hoop Fest. The game has to be played before 2/11/09. So we better get r done.

I guess that is why I thought it was pricey ---my son went to watch the Oak Grove game and only took $10. He came back disappointed because it was $20. I think they need to offer student passes or something. If adults want to pay the full ticket price and stay for all games okay, but kids, with no jobs, do not usually have access to that kind of money. Oh well, I do understand the predicament but maybe a per game price of $6.00 or a whole session price of $20 would have worked better. I bet they would have had more student fans there as well.

Why not for heaven's sake? It's football ---- these boys are tough. If they wait until March they would be out of football shape anyway. WAY TO GO KENTUCKY!!!!

Very nice win as a matter of fact. The attendance was very good considering the unexpected change of date. The Hounds played great. If you wanted to see who officiated you should've come to the game yourself but if I remember correctly, you didn't want to make the trip. Corbin won fair and square. In fact we had more fouls called on us than South Laurel did---it was a hard played game. Don't know what happened in the Knox/Bell game but to imply that the loss is because of the refs is ridiculous. However, it is pretty much par for the course when it comes to disgruntled Bell fans. Bell and Knox are both very good teams that will have great seasons, perhaps the best team just won tonight. Not so far out of the realm of possibility. Happy New Year.

That's crazy. . . if anything else it would sell more papers and generate interest if it would be published. You would also think the coaches would be proud to tell the kids about the accomplishment. It makes them look good.

Some things just can't be helped. It was not an option to move the remaining games at the time. Lynn Camp was able to do this because both teams agreed to the change in venue and they were already in the middle of the game. No one is happy about this. If you don't come this evening you'll simply miss a good game but rest assured it will go on with or without the fan base present. Happy New Year and have fun anyway and remember stuff happens.

Has anybody seen these? Have they already come out and I missed them? If not, when will they come out. I am particularly interested in District 8 teams. The News Journal came out with their All Area team today.

The paper said the reason that they couldn't have the games earlier (they apparently tried) was that the clean up crew from Hazmat would still be cleaning up the area until late this afternoon. The soonest they can begin with the two games remaining is 6:30 p.m. (This game is Knox Central and Bell County so apparently Bell is coming) this places the championship game at 8:30 p.m. I am sure they are not pleased (CFIT officials) because this is bound to effect attendance and thus revenue. Hope the Redhound faithful will postpone their plans for a few hours and come on down to support the team. They should still be able to ring in the New Year afterwards. Look on the bright side they may even be able to avoid the crowd and traffic.

You know, it really does stink that the spill forced the games to another day, but it was not anyone in charge of the CFIT fault. Things happen. I don't really see the big deal in playing everything a little earlier. Starting at 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. and finishing up with the championship game following. Most people don't get going with their plans until after 8 anyway. Church watch night services often do not start until 9:00 p.m. or so. Just saying.

I heard the games have been rescheduled until tomorrow. The championship game is to be played at 8:30 p.m. The Hazmat team has evacuated a 1.5 mile radius around the ice plant. Anhydrous Ammonia spill. Roads are blocked coming into town. BUMMER.

This is probably a very ignorant question but do the kids (parents) pay for the rings or does the school provide them? I would imagine that most schools would not be able to pay for the rings. . . what about the kid who cannot afford it?

WYMT does a great job. You are right. The kids see it. The adults are the ones that complain. In fact, without WYMT mountain teams would not get any coverage. Thanks Brian and Jeff!

Just said that some picks are political, it is an honor for any high school player to make the list. Just saying to those that didn't make it to keep their chins up . . . the list is more often than not political. I was trying to encourage those who didn't make it not discourage those that did. If it came across otherwise it was not the intent.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. All-State is too political, and appears that many times its one coach scratching another coaches back. Some young men never make all-state, but play college football and some of those who do make it will not and can not play a down at the next level. Congratulations to those who did make it.
