Russell vs Ashland moved to Saturday night
It's amazing that a thread informing people that a football game has been delayed due to weather can recieve 125+ posts in the little amount of time this one has.

Yeah they just completed a 14,000 seat expansion 12 minutes ago.

OJ Mayo to Huntington High
Here we go again... :walk:

Nice stiff arm from Kasey Clark of Russell
Vic Anderson, Doug Beaumont? You tell me... Im not sure why it's so important to you that Ashland fans respond to a Kasey Clark thread anyway, but there you go, I took the bait. :walk:

OJ Mayo to Huntington High
It was never a big deal that we didn't play them in the regular season before OJ was there, so why is it now? Just because they have a team that can compete now doesn't mean Ashland should be forced to play them. But this is a debate that we dont really need to get started, it's not what this thread is about anyway.

It's good to know that Rose Hill isn't trying to cling on to those paper victories. Just as UK doesn't go around claiming 13 championships. While yes Rose Hill had the talent to sweep Ashland that year, anything can happen once it is taken to the court. But I dont think most Ashland fans would have a problem with giving Rose Hill a 5-3 edge during the OJ era. The school's administration certainly didn't. Yeah 10,000 may be a stretch. But I wasn't really basing the crowd size on people coming from all over to see a great game, odds are it will be a blowout. I was simply basing it on how well the TomcatNation has been known to travel. Not that Im saying those other schools couldn't or wouldn't bring as many fans, it just doesn't seem as likely, with maybe the exception of Russell.

If your talking about Josh Gross, he has graduated.

High School Football Budgets
I remember reading a few years ago that the high school in Texas that Friday Night Lights was based on (Odessa I think?) had their own 'team plane' at one point. I think it was one of their boosters private plane, but it was made avaiable to them whenever they needed to use it. At the time they played several games in California and used it so they wouldn't have to miss several days of school to travel. I think it may have even been used once to fly a California team to Odessa. Their stadium also seats 20,000 people.

Yes you can claim the two forfeits as wins, but does it really matter? It's like claiming Helms titles as national championships in college ball, some schools do it and some don't. But when it comes down to it, it's a victory on paper, not on the court. That said, as a Rose Hill fan go ahead and claim your two 'paper' wins against Ashland. As a UK fan, I'll claim their 6 helms titles as national championships, which gives them 13 total, one more than UCLA. As far as the posts concerning Ashland playing HHS this year. I doubt HHS will try and buy out the Ashland contract and I know Ashland wont make an attempt to get out of it. Ashland could very well be HHS's biggest draw of their season, in terms of attendence. If moved to one of the 3 larger arenas in Huntington this game could draw close to 10,000 people. In my opinion the game will still be played, just not at Huntington High School.

OJ Mayo to Huntington High
This is comical.. So what is the cutoff date for enrolling at most schools and still being able to play ball without losing any eligiblity? I figure he has at least a couple of months, right? I wonder how many schools could get in the mix in that amount of time, 5, 10, 30? Like I said, anything that comes out of that camp shouldn't be taken to seriously. But IMO, OJ will finish his high school carreer in Cincy, spend a year in the NBADL, then he is off to the league. At this point it doesnt seem like anything else matters.

OJ Mayo to Huntington High
I didnt mean it like that.. I was reffering to the numerous transfers, rumored transfers, circus like scenarios that come out of the OJ camp. Not that Im saying this is a rumor, from what I hear it is about 100% fact. I guess after the Walker ruling and other problems at NCH, you would have to figure he would eventually transfer to another school loaded with talent. It'll be nice to see him play in the area again, but this stuff is getting old.

Ashland/Russell Predictions
I dont think there will ever be the need to 'play up' any game in the Ashland-Russell series. Fans of both schools are well aware of whats at stake, which pretty much amounts to bragging rights I guess. Besides where would they put everyone if the whole town did show up?

Ashland/Russell Predictions
Are you saying Ashland doesnt have a shot at it? Im not even sure why we are even playing football this season then, are we on probation or something and cant go to the playoffs? Please explain.

Glen Este 28 Ryle 7
Just curious, but where is Glen Este from? Ohio, Indiana? From reading the other posts they sound like they must be a pretty good football team. But I have never heard them mentioned with the likes of a Cincy St. X, Elder or Moeller. So is it safe to assume this is an Indiana school?

Ashland/Belfry Updates
Belfry moved the ball to the Ashland 15 on their opening drive, where Ashland recovered a Belfry fumble. Ashland still moving the ball, 1st and 10 at the Ashland 35.

Ashland/Belfry Updates
Ashland scores first, it's 7-0 T-Cats with about 7:30 left in the first quarter. Sorry I wont be able to update much longer.

Can Rose Hill build a HIGH SCHOOL football program?
Maybe they could lease Putnam and play on Saturdays. Ok, maybe not.

Belfry vs Ashland
At the top of what?

Lawrence County & Coal Grove Predictions
I know nothing about them, but yes this will be their first game. Ohio starts their season a week after Kentucky does.

Can Rose Hill build a HIGH SCHOOL football program?
I think the area would most definetely support another program. But to me the real question is numbers. I doubt Rose Hill would have a problem coming up with the cash needed to get started, but they need more kids if they want this to become a reality. How many kids are on the 7th grade team? What is Rose Hill's enrollement in grades 9-12? It would surely have to rise, I believe. It's not that hard to get a program started and play for a couple of years, but it would be a real challenge to keep it going. Even if they can get their enrollement up, where are they going to put all of the kids?

Ashland vs. Raceland Predictions
It looks like rain will be moving into the Ashland area within the next 30 minutes. It looks like it may clear up just before kickoff though.

Has this happened before in Kentucky High School Football
Looks like artificial turf is the direction football is heading. If it wasn't there 10 years ago.
