Sure the Birds won and most say move on, but seriously here is a Senior Kicker and an All-State Candidate, who is working on his chance getting to the next level. Kickers are rated on scores and misses, especially in the clutches. In fact the Kicker receives an negative mark against this performance, while HOMER gets a paycheck. We ALL expect the Officiating Crew to be top notch at this level of the season.:thumb:

After that, it was a two-play drive, which was capped off by Jason Powers with 8:54 to go in the first quarter, putting Whitley County up 6-0 after failing to convert the extra point. On the night, Powers rushed for 108 yards with three rushing touchdowns, giving him 27 on the year, which broke the record of 25 set by Bobby Joe Lawson in 1996. After the game, Powers said it felt great to get the touchdown mark, but he owed all the credit to his offensive line, which includes Nathaniel Davis, Dan Burnette, Cyle Moses, D.J. ...those in attendance did get to witness possibly the best three back trio in the state in Jason Powers, Cody Jones and Josh Winn rush for 411 yards, with 283 of those coming in the first half. Jones finished the game with 143 yards on 13 carries, Powers carried the ball 21 times for 164 yards and Winn added 112 yards on eight carries. This is the first time since 2003 Whitley County has had three running backs rush for over 100 yards in a game. Great game by the Bluebirds. Great fan turnout for the Birds, saw many old friends and teammates/State Champions. Amazing to see Roller making the trip, can't keep a good man down.:thumb: The music blasts helped the Birds, most were rock'n along. Noticed after Kody's rumble to the house, the music was less on cue. Tyler Combs, Bardgett, Schlosser, Grubbs and Dempsey have developed into a most revered O-line. Tony G made his mark targeting Welz, Gold, Buten for scores, not to mention the bull-runs for yardage. JC offense was very good at misdirection but the Birds' defense bend but do not break. Alot of many nice individual tackles wasted on phantom ball carriers. But the defense turned it on making the score from 70-yards out. A shout out to Bardo and Collinsworth who saved a couple of TD's. Both had a nice game. Kudos to the HHS coaching staff preparing the Birds for this road game. Alot of adjustments in the normal gameplan, covering both strategy and personnel. Congrats on this TEAM win. :dancingpa

What a huge loss to the I-Hill's program. I was fortunate to have Kevin as a teammate and later we competed against each other as coaches. A positive leader of young men and a strong competitor. Best Wishes on your future.

I did see TC pushing his SUV into school this morning, I thought he was just having car trouble.

Anyone who manned-up against #32-BS would play through the whistle and then some. HHS-#55 got rid of any Goo-Goo and played on. His fumble recovery was timely... he saved the drive and the game! Ifs, ands, or buts HHS played till the end of game. Both teams showed strong wills to win.:flame:
