Randon Cavette, who led Graves County to the final four in 2006, passed away on Sunday night after collapsing while playing a pickup game in Mayfield.

 

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

That is horrible my prayers go out to his family. I watched him play one of the best HS basketball games in the state tourney a few years ago against South Laurel.

I'll never forget his game against South Laurel. His performance was awesome. Sad News, very sad news.

And the big assist on Jamie King's game-winning basket ... Cavette's ability to penetrate and create against South Laurel's big zone was the key to Graves' win.

 

Cavette played a year at Coastal Carolina but had been kicking around Mayfield since then. He had a chance to play junior college ball, but I think he just decided to stay home.

Sad news, prayers to his family....

He backdoored South Laurel the entire game. It worked to perfection. He was a great kid and will be missed.
