Perhaps the three best running backs ever at Highlands led their team to state championships in the 1960s.
Effie Vories (1964)
John Burt (1960)
Jim Burt (1960)
The Burt brothers were legends in the state of Kentucky in the late '50s and early '60, and Jim Burt went on to be drafted in the fifth round by the Los Angeles Rams. Effie Vories was explosive and similar in running style to Justin Frisk.
The magazine is "Inside Fort Thomas" and Coach Barr said that the incoming freshmen will be his biggest since Schlarman and Reynolds. He also said it's too early to tell how good the class will be. There is some quickness in the skill positions and a lot of size on the line.
Colerain and Highlands are talking. Highlands would love to schedule the games for the next two years. Both schools have early season openings in their schedules in 2007 and 2008. It's all comes down to whether Colerain wants to play. A decision should be made soon.

Highlands will not be playing any teams from Cincinnati or Louisville next season. The first game of the season against Ryle will be played at Paul Brown Stadium. There are currently two open dates on the schedule because Coach Mueller can't find any other Kentucky teams willing to play. Ryle may play Highlands twice next season.
The schedule looks like this in this order at this moment:
Ryle, Conner, Holmes, Dixie, Covington Catholic, Bye, Scott, Lexington Catholic, possibly Ryle again, Madison Central, Bye. There will be no Cincinnati teams on the schedule. Highlands is also trying to schedule a game with Hopkinsville.
