When you play against another big girl that can play, it sometimes makes the outcome a little different. I don't see where Daughtery has been pushed by any of the teams they have played yet until playing against Cundiff. None of the other small schools w/the exception of maybe St Henry/HC have anyone that can match up w/her. Let's see how she does against Boone and Katie Behrens. I would guess the same outcome. She is good and will get better.

Cundiff is fine, she wasn't needed against Beechwood so why risk any more problems w/the ankle. NCC wins big and Ludlow still gets no respect!

Ask Simon Kenton's coach how classy Coach Rains is. Is it right for a head coach to attend another teams scrimmage and film that scrimmage and tell those people that you are a parent on so and so's team. Not in my opinion. Best is then the next week at the 50 yd line you stand there and shake hands w/the other head coach who just a week ago told you he was filming his kid. Now, it is hard for me to believe that the administration and the entire athletic staff was not aware of what type of funding was going on and to whom and from whom. This is a very small school and I am sure it is like Peyton Place, everyone knows everyone esle's business. Do the crime, do the time! LCA is lucky w/their punishment, if you can call it that.

If NCC beats Beechwood, they will also beat Ludlow and it should be a good game!

This is my opinion on the aid to the children who need it: it is great that people want their child to have a Catholic edu but if you can't afford it you don't get it. Therefore, attend the public school. There have been several thousand people educated thru the public school system that have gone on to become very successful people throughout the world. Education, no matter where you go, is what you make of it. No one will ever convince me that the private school teachers are better than the public school teacher and visa versa. It starts at home and that's the bottom line because "Stone Cold said so!"

I went to a public school, kids went to public schools and this statement, as we all have our opinions, is way off. To make a statement like this you must really despise the Catholic schools and that is a shame to have that much hatred for all Catholic schools. I am sure there are plenty of violations each yr by the public schools as well as the Catholic schools. Like someone sd, it is just a matter of getting caught or not. That is why if caught, the fine and suspension periods should be more harsh making these schools think twice before letting something happen that shouldn't be going on.

They took their medicine alright, one rich parent stepped up and wrote a simple check for the fine! How was this fine so much different than LC, theirs was $31,000? There were 16/18 athletes listed in the article, so I would have to assume they could figure out what sports these kids participated in. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Wow, here's one I thought of: wonder if Coach Yeagle would move to Pikeville to take over a team of the "use to be" biggest rivals in Class A. It use to be said that the state championship went thru Ft Mitchell or Pikeville. Getting out of the area might be the remedy for what ales him.

Haven't read all the posts but IMO, from 02-03 thru 06-07 season when this all took place, all the athletic teams that had ineligible players should forfeit all their games and this should reflect in the KHSAA record books. Now, the big question to me is were any athletes in question girls playing on the state championship bball team last yr and also the state baseball championship team. I guess the only thing to do there would be to remove those championship tropy's from the school and give them to the teams they beat in the championship. We all know the KHSAA won't do that but maybe if they did it would make schools, public or private, stop and think what is going on at their respected schools. I am sure everyone remembers a few yrs back w/Highlands, their record reflects losses when an ineligible player was playing. The state champs w/a record of 2-13? or something like that.

Evidentally, Ryle has changed their rule regarding allowing 8th graders to play up until their season is over. This use to be a Boone Co school system rule, I think at least for Bball. Someone correct me if I am wrong. What's the old saying, money talks?? The Moss girl is a great talent!

Beechwood hasn't done bad w/it beginning back in '91.

How can losing a great/good athlete be good for any school, please explain that one?

If the state championship games are moved to BG, then they will have to be able to change times of the games, IMO. Let's say, Beechwood and LCA play again next yr, that is asking alot for the team to travel 4 hrs to play at 11:30am..Beechwood met this yr at 7am which is still pretty early. Sure, they can go and spend the night but then you are looking at expenses. I don't care what school it is, the richest to the poorest, that is alot of money to be spending for a game. I hope UK gets turf, then I look for the games to be moved there.

Major mistake! The girls bball tourney is already there and it is always a major complaint how far away it is to get there, obviously depending on where you live. I think attendance would go way down if moved to WKU. I think you will see the football championships moved to UK w/in 2/3 yrs due to UK finally getting a turf surface.

They are pretty lucky if that is all that is said to them! I have heard and witnessed much worse.

Hmmmmm...... comparing apples and oranges has nothing to do w/coaching ability.

Are you saying the Jr class is small in number or physical size? You can add Miller, Schultz, Kenning to the list of lineman, Downton/Spence at WR and about 10 more. As for the class size, there are approx 20 Jr's returning and they are not that small physically. The soph class is small number wise and physically. However, there are the freshman w/more coming!

It depends on the criteria one would use, obviously, getting those rings at the end of the yr pops in my head first. So, HHS, BHS, CCH and NCC would be my four for "really good programs!" The rest are good but really good? Boone would be close but let's face reality, no team in 6A in NKY will ever compete w/the Louis schools yr after yr. Only if all good football players could attend the same Boone Co School would they maybe compete downstate.
