I agree to disagree, to disagree to agree! Bottom line, at the Varsity level, no matter how many feelings get hurt, a coach plays his best players in the given situation in order to WIN the game. It does not matter what grade the player is in. The coach plays for the win not to make everyone happy, at least most of them do.

Great point, where were all these taxpayers when it came to raising money for the cost of the field, nowhere to be found! The field, basically, was paid for by one individual w/some promises involved. W/those promises not being filled, they will not paint over the existing field, as you all suggest. I am not positive but I do not believe that Newport soccer lines were painted on. I think they are permanent. How tacky to paint on a $500,000 field? I can see Highlands and CCH doing that:laugh:, NOT! It's a number game, there aren't enough H.S. students interested to form a team. It will get voted on again and it will get voted down. As for sending or not sending your kids to Beechwood, well, if they play soccer I guess you won't send them.

This is the main reason the playoffs are not right, why should Beechwood have to travel back to back in the semi's or for that matter, no team should have to travel back to back in the semi's.

Fact, you can't just paint over top of the existing field. The new lines would have to be re-cut and that will not happen. Like I said before, where would the money come from? The man who paid for the field is still waiting for his money and the school can not afford to go into any further debt. Education is the first concern. There is alot more involved that all you experts don't know about but maybe all the pro soccer fans will tell the paper and the real facts will come out.

So, don't leave me hanging. What happened at the game tonight? Going on what everyone sd, Ludlow had to much for the Bowling girl to beat by herself. How about some info! How did Bowling do?

This is exactly what I said just in different words. The football field is not wide enough nor can they expand it to accomadate the width. Where would the money come from. They can't raise enough money now to pay the man who paid for the football field, do you think they are going to spend more money to make the field wider? I don't think so. I am w/Beechwoodfan, I am sorry I got started on this thread. It just bothers me that soooo many outsiders get involved and have no idea what is actually going on. I was hoping someone would go there, just goes to prove that if your'e not involved w/the school, stay out of it. Nothing against you KyTmcNcc, I was actually hoping someone else would bring this up. Beechwood's football field/Band field is not big enough to play soccer on. The field is not wide enough nor long enough(?) ! So, again for all that know all, where would this team play/practice.

I was older but which Bowling does she belong too? There were 3 brothers who all played everything except Mike, that is who I played w/when he was an 8th grader and I was a Sr. He did not play football due to broken knee problems. If she handles the ball like Mike and shoots like Chris and runs like Steve, she has to be pretty good! I wish I was still around more to watch Beechwood play and be involved more w/the school. It is a great place but I keep hearing of many problems lately.

There are numerous issues at hand regarding this, it's just the people on the outside have no idea.

If playing soccer is more important than getting a great education don't move to Ft Mitchell, move to Ft Thomas, they will get both their.:thumb:

Amazing how everyone NOT involved w/Beechwood knows everything about Beechwood. IMO, what the pro soccer fans did by calling the news/newspaper was tacky and a big stab in the back to the Beechwood Administration and entire staff. Beechwood has always been about pride, family and community. They have always taken care of their own. Now you have a bunch of rich elementary parents who don't know what to do w/all their money, hire an attorney because they were told NO! By getting soccer will not hurt the football team, so those using this as a crutch, please stop. Nothing will hurt the football program. Parents will continue to move to Ft Mitchell or pay tuition for their sons to play football no matter what. I could go on and on but one last thing, the parents say it's not about "quality but quantitiy." Show me one parent who could care less if their little Johnny or Susie doesn't win and I will call them a liar. I would like to know where this team will practice/play? They talk about not playing by KHSAA standards for a few yrs, well it will take longer than a few yrs because elementary and Jr High students can not participate in JV/V soccer, state rules. Again, it's a numbers game and I don't believe they are there at the H.S. level.

That makes two of us but still this should not have been brought to this thread regarding bball not kickball:sssh: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Being a Ludlow fan, I think, you should know as well as anyone that it is impossible for the smaller schools to compete in every sport .

Wow, KYPRIDE, did you just buy interest in BGP's? I can't say I disagree w/you but as you well know, humans will be humans. We tend to open our mouths and insert both feet most of the time and usually have no idea what we are talking about. The LCA incident is public knowledge and has been reported in the paper. I don't think people talking about it on here would be a violation due to the reports being out. Not saying any of the kids were football players, it would be hard for me to believe that none of the 16 kids in the report were not football players. Anyway, LCA has to be the favorite next yr w/all they return but until someone beats Beechwood, they are still #1 and the defending champions. I think Pikeville will be good again and as always, Mayfield will be in the hunt and Frankfort returns some very good skilled players!

Too bad Casey Smith(NDA) and Devon Beasley(Conner) did'nt come back:ylsuper: I did not see a girl playing the other night that played last yr that was a tall slender girl who could rebound and was a decent scorer. Hey, where are all the Beechwood posters? The football thread is full of them. Doesn't anyone support the girls/boys basketball programs? I went there many moons ago and all the sports were very well supported, what has happened? One of you Beechie Tech alumni or anyone give me some scoop on the Lady Tigers. I watched them play once, being in town for business, against NCC so I didn't get a good understanding of their team w/the exception of #24 and it looked like she took some very good knowledge and skill from Boone back to Beechwood, defense, ball handling, rebounding, passing, good looking shot(just didn't fall), best they had! What else? How does the rest of the season look for them? Looking at their schedule, Ludlow is by far their toughest opponent, could they win the rest?

Amen, Coach! Now, we they be eligible to play in post play next yr since they are on probation, actually, what does the probation mean?

If Ms Sandfoss stays out of foul trouble, this one could be closer than most think. I don't think Boone has an answer on the defensive end for her but she can't beat them by herself. The competition level rises 110% versus the All A teams they just played. Good luck to both!

I see the all tourney teams haven't changed any. Whoever scores the pts gets the gold. I saw this BHS/NCC game and although this young lady led the team in scoring , w/out #24 they may never have gotten the ball pass half ct to take any shots. #24 was the only one that was running the floor, making passes, rebounding. Is this the Boone transfer, if so, that answers alot of questions? I always voted for all tourney players by thinking if the team didn't have this player how different would the outcome be, just my opinion. #24, shoot the ball, scoring/not scoring is the only statistic that doesn't go unnoticed:thumb:

There needs to be an alternative for yrs to come when a school is not able to have a team and not participate in this tourney. Villa did not play a game and was in the semi-finals. Everyone should agree that in the future if this happens, there should be a re-draw. Never in a tourney should a team get an automatic gift to the semi's w/out playing a game. Who else made the all tourney team? Congrats to the young lady's listed above!!
