Schroder played amazing for Villa!!! She really kept her team in it... But if she had a little help at the point position she would be really good b/c to me she does not look like a point guard.

There needs to be an alternative for yrs to come when a school is not able to have a team and not participate in this tourney. Villa did not play a game and was in the semi-finals. Everyone should agree that in the future if this happens, there should be a re-draw. Never in a tourney should a team get an automatic gift to the semi's w/out playing a game.

Not sure who they are except for the Rolph girl from St Henry and Ashley from Ludlow.

 

From what I saw the same two teams would have been in the finals anyway but it must be rare when a school drops a sport and creates this situation. A redraw would make sense.

Yes it would have been nice to see the HC/NCC game in the final because that was really the game of the tourney

I agree a re-draw should have taken place. Who handles the drawing for the All A in the 9th Region anyway? Is it the host school or do they have a committee or someone who is in charge of making these type of decisions?

Whoever or whatever missed the boat on this issue. I'm told that the drawing for the All takes place in the later part of the previous school year. Does anyone know for sure about that?

The draw is made in the spring of te previous year. Villa woul have beaten Heritage anyway so it really made no difference. Any redraw would have to have been for the entire bracket and I can't believe the teams in the upper bracket would have wanted that. They probably just wanted a redraw of the upper bracket, and you can't do that.

IMO the entire tournament should have been redrawn. No teams 1st game should have been in the semi-finals. NCC played 4 games and Villa played 2. Something just doesn't smell right about that. Maybe those in charge can take a look at this and put something in place to guard against this happening again.

You are right - point guard is not Schroer's natural position but her team needs her there this year so that's where she plays. Remember there are only 80 girls in the entire high school. Villa has some young girls coming up who are quick and athletic so maybe next year she can return to a 2 or 3.
