Frankforts speed gave BHS some trouble on the opening kickoff, otherwise, shut them down. Speed, so what! Playing in Louisville is like Beechwood having a HOME game!:dancingpa

For you all that pick Fields over Farris, you need to check yourself. Farris is alot better football player and way more valuable to his team than Fields is to his. Not at all impressed w/Fields(at QB) w/the exception of his speed. He definetly is an athlete playing QB, not at all a QB though.

Only thing I have heard is LCA does have a D1 player, the kicker! QB is alot like Elliott but a soph and the running back has huge quads. Again, I think it will be won in the trenches. BHS's O/D line is just too big, strong and quick. W/the backfield and this line and let's not forget the WR, Beechwood wins another state title.

If you were in the stands, which I assume you were, you wouldn't know. When the oppossing teams head coach and entire staff is furious, I am sure it happened. That's BUSH LEAGUE, YOU ARE CORRECT! Being a new program as they were and still basically are, they just did not know how to win in a proper manner. I just hope they remember how to lose to another NKY team.

My apology, I just figured you knew more about the state and its programs. BHS is not new to the game and there first appearance was in '74 and lost, then won their first title in '84. Won again in '91, '92, '93, '94, runner up in '95(lost by one after going for two w/about 45 sec left), won in '96, '97, semi finals '98, won '99, runner up '02, '03(Mayfield won both), won '04. In 2000, 01, 05, 06 NCC won these yrs. Now, do you see why the BHS faithful are so touchy about their football. These kids don't think they can win, they know they can win. They never go into a game, no matter who they are playing, and think they are going to get beat. This is not being over confident/cocky or arrogant, it is just something they learn going thru the system, meaning k-12. The whole school is housed under one roof. The little ones know who all the football players are and the football players know who all the little fans are. They pass each other in the hallways, giving high fives. BHS is unique in this way and that's what makes a great program instead of a good program. All the kids see/learn how to win and more importantly, as I said in another post, they know how to lose graciuosly.

What a rediculous question. You seem to be very knowledgeable to high school sports(football) and I would be willing to bet, if I were a gambling man, that you know exactly when BHS won their first state title and be able to figure out it took a very long time to get there, way more than 7 yrs to get to the title game. This is a great accomplishment and no one should think or say otherwise. I surely take my hat off to the program. I assure you, I realize how hard it is to get there yr after yr. It is no picnic for anyone involved.

The players constantly taunting the BHS sidelines towards the end of the game, dancing around during the game, this shows no discipline on the coach's part leaving a very sour taste in ones mouth. Then the old popular chant, "over rated." BHS got whipped that night by a better team but at least they know how to win and better yet, know how to lose graciously. That is the difference between a great(dynasty)program and a decent/good program. Being a so-called BHS fan, I will be the first to admit, that lose was not a fluke. LCA beat them in every aspect of the game. They had a running back that was literally unstoppable. At least the "GOLD" STAYED IN NKY! Now, I don't really think I would consider this game as a rivalry just yet. BHS and Pikeville/Mayfield/Harrodsburg those are rivals. The old saying in the mid to late 80's and all during the 90's was the state championship had to go thru Ft. Mitchell or Pikeville. Then the big change w/the playoff system. Haven't seen LCA but I hear nothing but good things as I did w/Frankfort. After I get my hands on some game film I will be glad to report back. Have to pull some strings somewhere but I just might be able to do that. I have big connections in the state.:ylsuper:

LCA embarrassed Beechwood in '05 and they have not forgotten all the extra curricular activities that took place on the field during the butt whoopin'! Beechwood will show up and I guarantee that. This group of Sr's haven't forgotten what it was like to see their older teammates humiliated in a game.

Explain what this means! LCA is private and Beechwood is public so how do you figure semi-private?

Frankfort got a taste of old fashion Beechwood smash mouth football mixed in w/a little aerial attack. Not exact numbers but Teipel rushed for 196 yds, Bankemper 145 yds and Elliott for about 115 and alsoe threw for over 100 yds. Great effort by the whole team, the O line dominated the game. Bankemper and Teipel ran w/authority all night. I will say this, Fields is the only kid I have seen run down Elliott, although he had the angle twice he still showed his speed. He will be an asset to the WR at UK next yr and will be an impact as a Freshman.

I have posed this question before but got no response, please tell me who these 6 backs are besides 9,11,22 & 23. 23 is by far the fastest, then 22,11,9. 22 & 23 obviously have break away speed, the other two can be caught, IMO. I guess everyone's questions will be answered later tonight.

I will agree to disagree, in the late 70's BHS was not any good, sorry. Things really got going in the mid 80's and progressed from there. Who knows, I may be as old if not older and maybe was very close to the situation myself??

What happened yrs ago is relevant. It started in '84 w/the first championship team and escalated in the '90's. When these kids are in elementary, they see the high school players and student body getting excited this time of yr. Remember, they are housed under one roof. Coming up thru the elementary they begin to see what it is all about, how to win and lose. They see the disappointment when the team loses and it does transpire down from the Sr's to the kindergarten kids. They all realize what is going on and get real excited. It is almost expected of the team to be in the position they are in each and every yr. They work very hard, as other teams do, to be playing in the semi's to get to the big show. Not one Beechwood player wants to be remembered as the team who did not win a state championship. Unfortunately, they have a tremendous amount of pressure put on them and they all handle it very well because as Freshman they learn how to win and they expect to win no matter who they are playing. Call it an attitude but you better have an attitude on Friday night when you line up across from an opponent who wants to knock you block off. It's not arrogance or being conceded, it's pride in yourself and calling yourself a brother to the rest of your teammates. Pride, Brotherhood and Unity forever!! This will be a good game, I think, but obviously I am pulling for the Tigers.

I probably have forgotten more about football than you know, let me list them:9, 11, 22, 23, who else. I guess the rest were hiding in the games I saw. Hayden was very good but not in the same class as the RB's mentioned. Mayfield had a very good one also named Redd.

They have 4 kids that can run, does this constitute team speed?
