Beechwood hosted the first yr the gym was built and it was a mess w/crowd control and seating. The gym is just too small to host both boys and girls. It could hold the girls crowd but not the boys. Don't know about the paperwork comment but Beechwood was trying to have it at TM but due to TM girls playing so well and the possibility of them hosting DII tourney, they had to turn BHS down. BHS then turned to Holmes, don't know how the gate, consession stand $ gets distributed but it will be alot more comfortable at Holmes to watch the finals when the boys play.

Don't know that I would consider Jaz a guard but if you do I would have to agree. She has the best left hand in NKY and better realize she has two hands before heading down here to my state.

What are you confused about? or Are you saying shouldn't be listed? or BHS(Beechwood)

I was under the impression that the home team coach request 3 refs, no matter if it is boys or girls(9th reg).

When will the KHSAA wake up. Time and time again everyone complains about this come tournament time. If one district in the state seeds then every district should or if there is a draw everyone draws. I understand the smaller schools not wanting to seed but why wouldn't they want the best teams in their district to represent them in the regional and possibly going down state. H.S. sports is about the kids not the adults who think the trophy's make them look good.

Long(Conner), Bradley(Boone), Tolliver(SK), Jackson(NDA), Allen(HHS), Sandfoss(NCC), Bowling(BHS) No particular order but if you take any of these girls off their teams it is a major factor.

How did Ms Chambers find out about this or how did kysportsfan4life find out about this? I have been involved w/this game for the last 2yrs and I haven't heard anything about the team as of yet.

Your beloved Ludlow will not vote to seed in volleyball, imagine that. IMO, a school should not have a vote. The state should say, everyone seeds the tourney or they don't. Everyone is always complaining about making things equal across the state, well, this would make things equal. All the districts seed or they don't seed.

HC and the 9th region, tougher schedule so far

Do you know anything about athletics and recruiting? I doubt if playing against the all mighty Ryle and going 1-8 would have caused Ball State or any other school looking at Elliott to be discouraged. He is one of the best athletes in NKY. All great players have bad games and the college/pro scouts realize that! I think they will know athletic talent will they see it.

I don't know that much about swimming but my knowledge of this is the individual recieves so many pts according to time and maybe what place they finish, I am guessing on the finish. All I know is I saw these pts and the soph(Brandenberg) had 270 pts and the Sr(Dickman) had 258. Bradenberg won both individual events she was entered in setting a pool/regional record in one of the them and anchored two relays that went 1/2. Dickman finished 1/2 in two individual events and 1/2 in relays. How the coaches felt that Claire had a better day than Krissie is beyond me.

What a great day at the pool! NDA once again won the girls side and who else but CCH winning the boys side. Beechwood threatened CCH's domination in the beginning but CCH is way too deep. Beechwood is very young on both sides w/only one SR in each. Highlands finished second in girls. Question for all you swimming experts: How, if a swimmer is winning in power pts at the end of the contest, not win "swimmer of the meet?" I realize the coaches also give their two cents but that is all it should be worth, two cents. A soph proved that she was the best today and the the recognition went to a SR. Granted, this SR is very good but she was not the best today, IMO. Coaches should not look at who they are voting for but how well each individual did on that given day. This was an injustice to the 4th region swimming world. Way to go Ms Brandenberg, you were the best in everyone's eyes today, well, almost everyone!:thumb:

Boone will not show their whole hand in this one. Whether they win or lose it will wind up these two in the district finals. They will play to win, obviously, but Conner may not see the full court Boone press in this one. No one wants to lose but I am sure both would rather take a W in Feb than in Jan. Conner wins at home!!

I know, who cares but the little dogs should get some talk too. This should be a good game for both teams as Dayton beat BHS by 4 first time out. I'll take BHS this time by 7pts. The B's(Bowling, Brennan, Bri) all in double figures!:thumb:

Sorry pnthr4life, I did not mean you were complaining. It was a generalized statement not geared towards one person. I can remember reading about how the Ludlow fans(in general) did not feel their girls bball program was getting any respect after winning 20+ games. IMO, a team does not gain any respect getting beat by 20 or more even if they are suppose to. I don't think by scheduling Boone/Ryle etc it makes your program better when you lose by such a margin. It may give your players a sense of what they need to do to get better but lets face it a coach can not teach athletic ability and the bigger schools usually have that for the most part where the smaller schools play w/a big heart and alot of desire to succeed. These players have my respect for getting on the floor and trying as hard as they can.

You must be watching a totally different game than I do. If a player says anything he most definetly keeps his eye on them the rest of the game and they better be careful because he then calls every little thing on that one person. He thinks he "is the show!" He forgets the show is the kids not him. Campbell is the best, I like Pouncy as well as O'Hara. Chappy and Gabbard sitll do a good job just can't get up and down as well any more. Most of the good 9th region refs have retired and now you see alot of the JV refs doing V, OH my my!! I would prefer the 9th over the 8th and 10th though. 9th lost the best in Brian "Sandman" Sandlin, IMO

Good question, why were they using 10th officials? There weren't too many games going on in the 9th not to use the 9th region officials. Not that they are any better but they do know the # of the player before going to the scorer's table. This crew had to be bad!

Will pay off how? Ludlow will beat who they are suppose to beat in their district and then to the region again. Will this upgrade schedule enable them to beat HHS/Conner/Boone/NDA etc? I don't think so. So, why play the big dogs and have your girls embarrassed? Please don't take any of this the wrong way, I am just asking questions! Boone is one of the top teams in the region every yr. Why doesn't this margin surprise you? Boone is suppose to beat Ludlow like this. It isn't very often that one of the DIII schools has a good enough team to compete w/the top ten teams let alone one of the top 5 teams. I don't think you could take the top ten players from all the DIII schools and beat Boone/HHS/Conner/NDA. Just my opinion and observations. Ludlow is a real good DIII school and I think everyone will agree w/that. They get respect from the small schools and the bigger schools will agree they are a good DIII team, but it stops there, unfortunately. I don't understand why the Ludlow faithful are always complaining about this issue, be proud of what they have done and are doing down there and be done w/it. None of the small schools will be respected by the big schools until they WIN something as NCC has done in the past but then I don't consider them as being too small due to the territory they can draw from. Keep up the good work Panthers, there are people, alot of people, cheering for you when you compete against these power houses in NKY:thumb:

Ouch!! Welcome to the big leagues. I guess they did not hit all those three's I read about that they had against Beechwood and they must not have had much inside play either. Anyone there w/some details.

You are probably right but this team does play very hard every game which isn't a typical Beechwood team. Two yrs ago this nice NKAC D-3 team was probably the 3rd/4th best team in the region. Problem was the top two/three teams were in their same district, Holmes/CCH/HC! Yr in yr out, this is usually the toughest district in the 9th region! What happened w/Romes in this game, 5pts??

I have heard rumors thru the grapevine that they are trying to use TM for districts. Anyone else hear this? Honestly, Beechwood is just too small to host a district tourney. Not enough stands and locker room space would be tough, I think?
