Regardless, SK was at the line up 1 with the front end of the bonus and missed, then they went to the line down 1 at the end and yet again missed the front end. SK had their chance and couldn't capitalize, congrats to MC.

I know that is why Dressman started, but the Pioneers looked the best they have all year on the boards tonight with Dressman and Robinson in the game. Those two, if they accept their roles could cut heavily into his playing time.

Hiller went on something like a 7 or 9-0 run tonight. Dressman has been getting better and better since he has been getting playing time, even got on the all-tourney team. If he keeps playing like he has Maegely will be in a battle for his starting job.

The player from Dixie that really played well was I believe the Lawson boy. He kept hitting big shots.

Maegley fouling out in regulation did hurt the Pioneers on the defensive end, he didn't do much on offense when Mace was in the game. Also, the Pioneers let a good 20-30 seconds run off the clock at the end of the second OT before getting shots. If SK would have hit some shots in the second half they would have won.

Games at Gallatin are usually poorly officiated, both ways. I think Walton can keep this close and might be able to pull it out, just like the rest of the year it all depends on which WV team shows up.

That's what I figured, Dixie coming off a 31 point victory and Scott coming off a bad loss to Conner.

You can't compare stats of a center and a point guard to decide who is better, and what exactly makes that a joke that he feels that way? I mean if you are willing to throw Slavey in the discussion then there is no way you can leave off Payton Ponzer, or even Jeff's teammate Nathan Ponzer for that matter.

I think Walton avenges the loss from last meeting and take this one by 13. They are such an up and down team that it really is hard to predict how they'll come out, but they should be fired up for the first round of the tourny.

With all due respect to the kids from Walton, he should have. He has about 100 pounds on anyone they have and is taller than all. He is good but there is a lot more to being a top 10 player than looking good on paper. I just don't think of him as a top 10 player, I mean if we are going to compare him against other teams then we need to look at other games like Gallatin and such. To me being top 10 means a lot and he just doesn't come to mind when thinking of it. Hopefully he plays like it come region time though.:thumb: As for Slavey, he is a good shooter but can get lost in the flow at times. If he is hitting though, he can put up some points.

Heard he we sick, don't know if there is any truth to that or not. As for the game, it was a win for SK, that's really all that can be said.

I agree that Payton is the back-bone of Walton. All I said is that they are two different types of guards. Payton looks to shoot more whereas Nathan looks to pass more. If the game is even remotely close then Walton's guards will outscore SK's because of the fact that I don't know if you can consider anyone in WV's lineup to be anything other than a guard. Kirk is a lengthy guard. Hopperton (I think that is his name) is the only one and he even he will raise it from behind the arc. The entire game depends on how well WV shoots and how well the handle the pressure defense.

I doubt either Ponzer guards the other all night, not to mention the fact that they are two entirely different types of players. Nathan creates points for the rest of his team, Payton is more of a scorer. You can't give either the edge there. Kirk probably won't be matched up against Layne either, but if they do the advantage goes to Layne who is much more versatile. Jones vs. Slavey could be good. If I'm coaching I match them up like this: Layne vs. Ponzer, Slavey vs. Jones, Brown vs. Kirk, Ponzer vs. the other starting guard, and then Maegeley vs. whoever else will be starting for WV. Have you seen SK play recently? They had Boone beat and then beat Conner basically with ease. I agree that as long as Walton stays composed they can make it a very good game, but it will be tough to stay calm if SK presses as successfully as they did the other night. That is where the majority of these blowout margins are coming from is the way the 2 teams have been playing as of late.

In the 9th it is either Boone or NCC. HC as mentioned above could possibly make some noise, but their toughest challenge will be to just get out of the district.

You would think that, but then again these are two of the most up and down teams you'll see. Walton gives Gallatin a heck of a game and could have won, then they lose to Trimble. SK plays great through 3 and a half quarters against Boone only to blow it at the end.

Wow, if you are going to take shots at somebody do it at the other poster and not the high school kid. If there was a problem then surely the coaches would handle it. Seeing as how they still play him and run him at the point I'm guessing that they must not see as much as you are. Honestly, it sounds like you are either a player or relative of a player that didn't like the fact that your boy or brother isn't/wasn't getting the shots that you felt he should. Also, being a supporter of Walton you wouldn't think that you would want to post all over the internet that the team is having problems and such. If there are the problems that you speak of, surely you aren't trying to blame it all on one kid are you?
