Well if Towles doesn't reach 40/40 at least he has oneup on Al Bundy, 5 TD's in one game. To say Towles' accomplishmenst are lessend(?) b/c of competition should also be questioned for J.J. Jude's gains. I am in no way shape or form an Highlands supporter, but he is the real deal.

It's not our fault that NKYer's love football to a fault. To say you have to say that HC is no doubt better than Somerset is like saying the light bulb is no doubt better than the candle. HC did not squeak by Somerset they blew by them. I don't care what the coaches did or did not do, they lost to a superior team. Not a one NewCath fan is making excuses for thier loss to HC in the regionals. HC is peaking at the right time and it is what it is. Good luck and God speed HC.

With this beat down in basketball does the football team side with BB or SG? There was a big stink over the football teams move to 2A and the assumption they could'nt compete. Now they turn around and destroy an inferior opponent?

I guess I should make it a more general question. I know people complain, but if you pull you statrters each game or almost each game before the end of the 3rd, doesn't that hurt your team in the long run?

With Beechwood losing in the state semi-finals on the last play, and from what reports say being shut down offensively in the 2nd half. Did all the blow out wins they had this year do them a disservice? I am curious to know if any other fan base feels this way? If they had played relatively close games in district do you believe they would have won thier respective games or not? In the beechwood instance I don't think it mattered at all.

Could not agree more. To many people looking to blame not accept responsibilty. If you want something go out and get it. Isn't that the american way? I never won a title in any league in my years as a prep player from 1st thru 12th grades. I don't blame anyone, it is what it is. Not everyone is meant to win.

where would you send your child if you lived in Southgate, Highland Heights, or Wilder if you had the means to? Highlands is closer to these 3 cities than NCC, Newport, BB, Newport, and Campbell Co. That alone makes logistical sense. These kids play at Highlands b/c they love the school. They are succesful b/c kids like QB Toewls(?) would cut off his throwing arm if his coach told him that would be the only way to win state. I listened to a speech by Mueller back in 2001 and I was ready to line up against Ray Lewis, and I'm an NewCath guy.

Besides LexCath, I can't find another private school that won the sweet 16, and besides Trinity and X how many state titles do private schools have? Public schools rule the roost in the big 3 sports for boys.

You can not convince me the head coach actually gave the order to tee off on that poor kid. That being said if he did give the order, I'd have a hard time as a parent not just, the kids parent of not doing physical harm. I also heard one official was also head postmaster of the Mayfield post office. and another one was running for city council. Why does it matter where the officials were from? Does anyone believe in football, today, there are actually officials that would intentionally cheat a team based on location?

I heard the officials were from the Murray area.

With the Cats win over the Vols today I'll say Joker's job is safe for one more year. Having seen Highlands twice this year, I see no reason they won't roll in this one.

Have to pick HC b/c they are an NKY team. I have no facts or observations of Glasgow. I have seen HC 3 times this year and was impressed more each time I saw them. The last being against NCC when they just out physicaled the defending champs on thier home field.

As a NewCath supporter I have to say go HC. I'll be in the beer garden rooting you guys on. I always pull for NKY teams in the playoffs, kind of like SEC guy. No offense to Somerset, they were great hosts the last time NewCath was down south.

I don't think players should get one just for being on the team. We had guys who played football, but would intentionally see who could do the least at practices. The theory was they weren't going to play anyways.

When I played, you had to either start a varsity game (whick 99.9% of the time meant you were a regular any way), or play in a certain amount of quarters. Seniors always got one thier senior year regardless if this was thier 1st or 4th year and if they ever played a down, but only when seniors.

I would saY the offense gets the 5 yard penalty and another shot. The play never happend (the untimed down) therefore they should get thier shot.

we lost 55-0 to beechwood, some else throw some scores in. The idea that newcath has "always" been dominate is wearing extremely thin with me. I love the fact that NewCath is top dog (kind of jealous) but they were not always/are world beaters. The coaching change did and still does have a reason for the turn around.
