  1. Ivan might be alright on the radio because he has a face for it. LOL He is also a foosball champ just ask him. (Side note he cheats he spins the rods) I agree Dan and Ivan do a great job together I listen to them during the Girls Sweet 16.
  2. We had the thread about "Homer". Now who is the best at his or her job? I will toss out the name of Dan Manley WMST Montgomery County. (Dan keeps his own stats while doing play by play) also the PA annoucer uses Dans eyes to say what happens on the field. The PA annoucer can't see. Good guy that does a great job.
  3. I am so glad that I was not added to this thread. It is hard to not be a bit of a homer because the audience is from your community that you love and live in most of the time. You can show a bit of bias and still not sound like a homer though. After some of the seasons I have been through with the Bath County Wildcats you get used to talking good about the other team. You still try to make the game interesting.
  4. Wilhite is a stud. Little known stat from the game in the first half Wilhite had 67 yards. He had 68 yards on Paris first series. With that to have 67 at the half seems like the cats stopped him after the first series. Granted he toted the rock 12 times in the first half and 4 of those were in the first series. Somehow things like that don't get mentioned. Paris had the dead legs late in the game. The speed everyone talked about from Paris wasn't what I had been led to believe. They are fast the big guy 68 he wasn't their star friday night he was outplayed by Nick Wilson is what I observed.
  5. Hopefully someone will listen to to us on the radio and do that for you. I won't be in till late so I will try to get some stats up late or in the morning. Follow the Cats home or away on 107.7 WKCA
  6. You helped me get the starters before the game for the radio. I had a feeling that was you. Thanks for your help. I just have a gut feeling that if we hold onto the ball, don't give up gifts for field postion and play defense like they did at Fairview could be very interesting tonight.
  7. Eagle Eye a bit of wishfull thinking or just your gut. Where you at the Bath LCA game last week? If so did you happen to be in the press box? The post is Paris and Bath County the question is can Bath handle the speed of Paris. Can Paris handle the speed of Bath County? Ask LCA if the Cats are fast. Well have have the answers to these questions and more tonight.
  8. Eagle Eye answer this. Bath County defeated Fairview last week and didnt move in the rankings. Thet lose to LCA and move up a spot. You would think it would have been the other way around.
  9. If the Eagles get their running back this week should be a good game. The Greyhounds have a nice squad with a ton of seniors. Fairview with 33 back wins by 12 without him they lose by 6
  10. What about a team that held Fairview to 107 total offensive yards? The LCA Eagles fly into Owingsville with the Rams in the rearview mirror picking where the district trophy will be placed and forget that Bath County has a team that is ready to play after being plum pummeled for the first 3 years of this series slips up and gets Denked up. What a Metz it will be and still won't be even Stevens for these teams as the Wildcats want to Clemons a piece of the pie.
  11. Playing very weak teams never helps you beat a decent team. Is this true?
  12. The Wildcats played defense and it started from the get go. This is a big mojo builder. I am so glad that those weaker teams boosted the egos. Also breaking down the wins by opponets, scoring margin, computer ranking (Cantrell & Litkenhous) toss all out the window. It comes down to who wants it more. I had the team pegged at 5-5 for the year. Stewart went down for Fairview witha ankle sprain early. Also Armstrong was dinged up before the half and played sparringly in the second. The thing that amazed me about Fairview was the frustration and the emotions the showed you could tell they were put out with Bath County. I know LCA has had the Wildcats number this team should make a game this year. If the defense plays like they did against Fairview the score could be low.
  13. Bath County traveled to Fairview and picked up the big win. Bath improves to 4-0 while Fairview slips to 2-3. LCA travels to Owingsville next week. Steven had 90 yards rushing and 1 score. Metz, Stevens and Clemons each had russhing TD's while Mitchell had one receiving a pass from Metz. The defense held Fairview to 107 total yards.
  14. Eagle Eye and Old Rambler that post was not intended for you. There are more conversations going on about Bath County football beyond this board. This is the first class that is comprised mostly of kids who started out in the JR Pro program and made their way up. Bath is now 4-0 going back to last season a far better than the 1-9 the last 5 years. The year was 1998 Fairviews first team after 2 years absence everyone pulled for them they finished 1-9. Wasn't that long ago the they struggled with numbers I rember that. It is funny looking back when I was in school the teams feared Bath County I think that is coming back now. Bath could of had a poor team and would win only a lot of times because of heart and a name.
  15. As for the Bath County Field still working on a few things. The visitor section across the field has a couple of movable bleechers seats. no more multi purpose baseball, football, little leage it is football only now. I think they did let the futball (soccer) team use it. ugggh. As for the purpose of this thread there have been some truths and some untruths posted. TaN great Job well done. ODRambler glad to hear ya! First myth scheduling weak teams. Bath is a part of the EKC (East Ky Confrence) which invludes the following teams Bath, Nicholas, Fairview, Lewis, East, West and Fleming. Bath gets 10 games a year. They must play 1. LCA 2. Nicholas 3. Berea 4. Fairview 5. Raceland 6. Paris leaving only 4 teams to choose from. Morgan West Carter, and Lewis County have each played the Cats 20 some of the 31 years that Bath has had a team. Meaning they play just about every year no matter what. The only addition lately has been Rowan County which used to be a every year game but Rowan dropped Bath some time ago after losing to a A program. If they were looking for cupcakes they wouldn't schedule teams from the EKC to play. There are teams with far worse records and less superior coaching to play for that. The Wildcat's have a group of players that love the game and play with a lot of heart and determination. The numbers have increased due to dedication and hard work. If Bath County was 0-3 coming into the game as they have been the last 3 years would the Fairview faithful be as quick to post snap backs at every comment. I love High School Sports I know where I will be Friday Night. Watching the Bath County Wildcats take on The Fairview Eagles. Give the Cats some due respect.
  16. What is the thoughts on the up coming game Friday night. The 3-0 Wildcats feel very good about their chances with the Eagles. Judging by the rankings and common opponets it should be a good game with Fairview favored by 12-14 points.
  17. Nets I was in no way taking anything away from Morgan they played with lots of heart. How is the big guy doing I seen him go out but unsure if he returned. It was either 70 or 72. I wish the best of Luck to the Cougars if they were to get just a few wins I hope one is a beating of Fleming Co. Keep their heads up and maybe all can get healed and make a run in districts for a playoff spot. We will see ya next year in the district with the new alignment good news for both teams lots of youth seeing lots of action.
  18. I think you mean SWARTZ not Schwartz he has been working in the Cincy area for a company non-sports hate to say for sure the type because I don't remember.
  19. Stevens had 210 rushing yards on 39 carries Bath County Fumbled the football away 4 times and threw an interception. Take nothing away from Morgan they have low numbers and some injuries. Flip the coin Bath County was with out a starting wideout/CB Justin Mitchell since halftime against West (Remember Mitchell #4 the play maker from last season & back up QB) also Aaron Roberts was slowed with injuries. add in that the leading tackler and second for the night were fighting possible mono and a stomach virus. Bath gets a week to heal before they face Fairview. Also before the game Coach Hoy "Muff" Miller was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The last time Bath County went 3-0 to start a season I am guessing was the late 80's to early 90's. The stadium and field look great still a few minor things to finish up. They come early tailgate and make Football what it should be fun for all including the fans. P.S. Thanks to the crew that fed me! Brats and football a winning combination so keep 'um coming.
  20. Good glad that is complete so when Russell comes in Friday they will have plenty of seating to watch the Devils go down. I was just kidding of course not about the Devils going down but about the field. I think the field at Bath Co might seat 20,000 but you have to sit indian style and really close together.
  21. He wanted to go back to Tenn to be with his wife. This coach that is here now has been coaching in North Carolina and has some big time AAU team that is ballers. He was going to come last year but timing wasn;t right. He is from the Eastern part and played college ball at Pikeville College Ithink.
  22. After watching Chris Lofton play catch with Cincy QB Grutza he was a better football player than basketball. Watching him at Rupp arena sinking the Cats some would beg to differ. Then throw in his buzzer beater to save UT in the NCAA tourny he has skills on the hardwood. Of recent times he is missed on most list. Bath County had a couple of football players almost make the big show in the NFL. Frank Jones with Green Bay and Chris Swartz Arizona who is the son of Dan Swartz (UK & MSU) of Celtic fame and when he played for Bath County there wasn't a football program.
  23. 20,000 isn't that the capacity of Putnam?
  24. The Wildcats haven't had much to get excited about for the past few season but starting out 2-0 I say look out. Morgan had an extra week to prepare so they should be ready. The downfall to a week off is sometime focus is lost and the intensity suffers. I am not saying that Morgan won't be ready to play. Coach Wood and his staff wouldn't allow that. Bath County has the big mo working in their favor. After watching the Cats first two games if they play like they can might be a very exciting football game. Both teams are loaded with youth. It will come down to this in the game: 1. Who has least amount of flags 2. Which team is ready to run the X's and O's and last but not least 3. Whos defense will make the big stops and not allow the big plays. Almost to close to call but the Cat Fight will end with a cloud of dust (Unless the weather report is right) then a puddle of mud and one team making a trip to lose to a very much improved Bath County squad. The best thing about High school sports is it is still pure. Not tempted by big money or empty promises. You go out and play for yourself, coaches, friends, family and your Community.
