Barker(PG) Fairview 5'9"-excellent Floor general.

VanHoose(Shooting Guard) Russell 6'4"-best range in the region.#1 College prospect.

Ferguson(Small Forward) 6'2"(Elliott)/McDavid(Small Forward) 6'3" (Ashland)-Can't go wrong with either one.Both have their strengths/weaknesses.

Euton 6'6"(Rose Hill) (Power Forward)-Great range has improved inside game tremendously.

Haney(Center) 6'4"(Morgan Co)- will be the 5 man after playing the 4 last year.An absolute bull -very strong.

Now you may ask "Where is Daniels(6'4" Rowan Co.)?Good Question. But remember the question was for a starting 5 not the best 5.If we took the best 5 Daniels would have to be #2 or 3.

Great! Now let us match them up with other regions in the state starting with the 11th Region team.

Game #1 Region #11 vs Region #16 Starting 5 September 2, 2pm

Region 11

PG Shelvin Mack 6'2"

SG Bud Mackey 6'3"

SF Aaron Boyd 6'3"

PF Victor Moses 6'4"

C/F Nathan Novosel 6'6"

6th Man Aaron Morris 6'5"

(note: All are Juniors)

Region 16

PG Barker 5'9"

SG Vanhoose 6'4"

SF Ferguson 6'2"

PF Euton 6'6"

C Haney 6'4"

6th Man McDavid 6'3"

I say the 16th Region has the edge! Any other regions out there???

McDavid should definetly be on the top 5.

Who do you boot out of the top 5 in the 16th to make room for McDavid in the game against the 11th region and other regions in the state?????

You put mcdavid in for either haney or barker..he is the 2nd/3rd best player in the region behind vanhoose and maybe ferguson..he should definitely be in the starting 5

A healthy Austin "Popeye-Biggie" Blair at the point.

Scott Gill at center and Mcdavid at PF.

Blair may prove to be an excellent point and Gill may do the same at center. However based on past accomplishments I wouldn't place them their yet.Besides I don't see Blair playing a "true point" VanHoose will do a great deal of the ballhandling and Russell usually has at least 4 that share the ball equally.

By the end of the season Chad Jackson will be on a lot of lists.

I think Wolfenbarker of greenup is as good or better than any of the point guards listed on this thread.

I agree with Chad Jackson possibly being on the list. Only in the 16th does a frosh ever have a chance to be listed as one of the best. Every year the 16th has a frosh taking the seniors spots.

Who is Haney? McDavid is the most versatile player in the 16th and can play positions 1-5. Euton will be good, and could be very good, but he has yet to prove anything consistently on the high school level against good competition.

He shut McDavid down in the district game last year.

Well ok, but that does not indicate consistency, and his team lost. I said good things about Euton, He's just not at his peak level right now. Yes, he has more potential than McDavid over the long haul. But I'll take the most consistent player in the 16th region anytime.
