  1. Final No upset in this one. Ashland controlled 3rd & 4th Quarters
  2. Ashland East Carter Bath County Elliott County East Carter Elliott County Elliott County Faulkner, Ethan
  3. I don't think they will either, Any team has an outside shot. Ashland and Elliot appear to be the favorites after the Vanhoose injury. That is why they play the game. History shows most of the time the team with the best record and best players don't always win. ie of that refrence the BCS bowl Championship game this year the Gators won. Look at the NCAA tourny the last umpteen years and look at the final fours heck look what underdog George Mason did last season. I love high school sports, it is the game as pure as it can be. Let's play ball heck I hope Bath and Lewis play in the finals two total over looked teams might bring in the biggest crowds as it has been a long drought for those teams in the Sweet 16. I love to pull for the underdog in any game.
  4. Could prove to be very interesting. The Wildcats lost to Russell by 19 at Russell a month ago +/-. The Wildcats missed 19 free throws. Now they have some confidence and a few more wins. You will just have to listen or peak at my paper gameday for the score I always write it down. I just think it could be interesting if the Cats shake of the lost to Rowan and look to advance this is their first trip in 8 years.
  5. If you go by the Mascot Matchups here is the way it plays out. FIRST ROUND GAME 1 - 3/7 - 6:30pm - Ashland Blazer (Tom Cats)/Lewis County (Lions) A battle of the beast Lions pride is too much for the house cats tuck tail and run home as Lewis County Lions advance. GAME 2 - 3/7 - 8:15pm - Rowan County (Vikings)/East Carter (Raiders) Humans do battle but the Vikings ship is plundered as the Raiders steal the Vikings weapons and leave them defenseless GAME 3 - 3/8 - 6:30pm - Russell (Red Devils)/Bath County (Wildcats) The Devil himself couldn’t couldn't stand the heat as the nets as well as the hardwood becomes part of Dante’s inferno the Cats escape with their lives less a lot of fur. GAME 4 - 3/8 - 8:15pm - Elliott County (Lions)/Boyd County (Lions) A battle of Pride. It is a toss up on the winner pitting two lions but edge to Elliot’s Lions have something to prove. SEMIFINALS GAME 5 - 3/10 - 12:00pm - Lewis County (Lions)/East Carter (Raiders) A battle of man versus beast. The Raiders are unable to steal the Lions weapons and are torn to shreds on their attempt GAME 6 - 3/10 - 1:45pm - Russell (Red Devils)/Elliott County (Lions) Once again the heat proves too much for the beast which are the lions CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 7 - 3/12 - 7pm - Lewis County (Lions)/Russell (Red Devils) The Lions come prepared with fire in their eyes however roasted Lions is on the Red Devils menu and a tasty meal is served. Winner Russell (Red Devils) The heat in the Kitchen is nothing compared to the smokey hardwood flavor that the Devil Himself would be proud.
  6. LCA is hard hitting but Stevens wasn't 100% going into the game. He did take a helmet to the shin on a low blow that compounded problems. I still feel this game will be closer than the Paris Raceland game.
  7. Correct you are. Stevens played hurt for 3 quarters on both sides of the ball. LCA also scored going into the half to take the led with 12 on the field. The big difference was field postion LCA had the best (I mean the best) punter I have seen this season had one 65 yarder without the roll. Anything can happen and this might be the game to watch in the first round of this district. To help Eagle Eye out Bath County has never defeated LCA.
  8. He is at 5057 at last count last night will have to check the final stats later to make sure I am doing that from memory. Moved him to 27th in career rushing unless there was someone else who reached that last night.
  9. Bath County finish the regular season 7-3 and go to the playoffs for the first time since 1998. Wayne Stevens picked up the yards needed for 5,000 career rushings yards and moves to #27 in career rushing yards. Bath County will be at Lexington Christian Academy for the first round next week. Nicholas finishes their season at 2-8
  10. Nicholas host Bath this week. Nicholas has a history of upsetting the cats. The Bluejackets would love to advenge the lost last season. Wayne Stevens for Bath needs just 6 yards to top the 5000 mark for his career. If Bath wins the make the playoffs for the first time since 1998. I think with a win they also either win the EKC or get a piece of the pie. Need to research that one a bit to find out the tie breaker for EKC. Thoughts and predictions for the Bath County road trip to Nicholas County.
  11. I meant Berea I had Nicholas on the brain. I guess being married to a Nicholas Countian would do that to a man.
  12. He was back in action Friday night. 19 carries for like 56 yards he probably wasn't 100% Clemons had a big night 97 yards on 9 carries. Bath County should have owned Rowan but just keep them in the game I think 3 interceptions and 5 fumbles and just keep giving Rowan Chances. The officials loved to toss the laundry as well it was everywhere all night long.
  13. The Wildcats need to win their last two games 1s t home against Berea then Nicholas at Nicholas County. Thoughts and predictions for the BC vs NC matchup.
  14. Any thoughts or Predictions for this one? Former Bath County Coach Bill Baldridge faces his old team in the Wildcats. Baldridge was the Coach for the cats back in 68 I Think.
  15. After being there Raceland is the team to beat in the district. Stevens was out for the game dressed in street clothes. He should be back and ready to play next Friday at Rowan County. The Bath County defense had their mits on Grizzle a few time but he slipped away. Not having Stevens also hurt on the defense almost as much as on offense. Raceland is for real and from what I saw the youngsters are the work horses. Nothing to be taken away from the seniors but it was the Sophmores bringing this one home. Maybe the two can meet in the playoffs and see what happens from there.
  16. Oh yeah Danny & Phillip at Mason how could I forget been a while since I was there the Lofton & Grutza days 50 plus blowouts thats how.
  17. I guess I should have made it clearer I was meaning Radio Announcer calling games at the High School level. If they are high school students or not. I have been around doing games for about 5 years and don't get the chance to hear many for being on the air myself. I have listened to games while calling the game to get scores. Dickie Martin does great as does: Dan Manley (Montgomery), Ted & Kent Robinson (Fairview), Jerry Glass (Morgan), John Mansfield (Former Bath Co PBP still does a few here and there for WMST & WKCA), I Went blank the guys at Mason Co., Coach Kidwell (Lewis), Tim Carper (West Carter & East Carter WUGO), Charlie Dunlap (Russell and Raceland) and The new guy for Rowan County is doing a fine job I think this is his first year calling games. I have heard all of these calling games.
  18. Thanks and I agree that the Cats are giving plenty of good thing to talk about. I read the post a few ago talking about making mistakes unless you have headphones on at the game you should never know that we make a mistake. I have made up names and recreated plays because of fast timeouts and the listener is none the wiser.
  19. I am surprised that Eagle Eye hasn't mentioned Mark Gotcher. Kicker for LCA the time Pettrey was kicking for Raceland watched both of them kick 50 plus field goals and around 60 yarders during warm ups. Woo Ashby for Bath County lkicked the ball in the swimming pool.
