Ian Welch put one through the up-rights tonight. Micheal Tackett and Blake Johnson are studs! Tommy Taylor and Chase Richardson had great pass receptions tonight. I agree with JC Alumni 76... special teams were a little bit off tonight, nothing to worry about, but they know they can be better than that.

Region 8 will have some good freshman this year. McCreary Central will have some dandy freshman wrestlers. Sheldon Clark will have Matt Slone, he probably can win state this year as a freshman. Johnson Central has Tyler Grimm, he won middle school state last year and should be 130 or 135 this year. Wayne County has some very good young 189, 215 and HWT., but I cant remember their names.

I will say this in this thread, and I will say it early in the JC vs. Ashland thread... I WILL NOT POST ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HURT THE JOHNSON CENTRAL FOOTBALL PROGRAM REGARDING THIS GAME. I will make my prediction and post comments about the game, but that is it. I have said some stupid things in the past on here that I probably shouldn't have said. I am going to let coach Matney, his staff and the players do the talking on the 20th. Until then, I am gonna be like Fonzie, and we all know what Fonzie is like... cool!

Good game tonight by both teams. I will give Johnson Central a A- on tonights performance. The jv played alot both ways in the 2nd half. JC's starting D didnt held Greenup County out of the end-zone. Congrats to Nathaniel Dials on a rushing touchdown.

Everybody needs to get out today for apple day, hang out in town for awhile... then come to eagle field and watch a good football game. Lakeview.... try and save me a spot if you know what I mean.

Here is Johnson Centrals point total and opponents total... 322-65. That is a 257 point spread through 7 games. And the numbers could be alot higher than what they are.

Next year JC might as well schedule the entire AFC East so that people cant talk about how weak their schedule is. Seriously, if JC was only beating the teams they are playing by a td or so. And letting the teams they play score 30+ points then there might a problem.

Johnson Central will be ready to play Greenup County this friday night. The open week comes at the best possible time. They get an extra week to prepare for Ashland, and it will give the injured players (which there shouldn't be any) time to rest. And the game between Mason County and JC will be a good warm-up for both teams going into the play-offs.

Ok... the last thread got off topic. Lets only discuss Johnson Central vs. Greenup County this time. The game is 2 days away. Hopefully we can keep this thread open until then.

Go ahead Ashland and laugh it up now. It is a long ride back on 23 with a loss. With the new 6 class alignment, JC and Ashland will be seeing alot of each other over the next 30 seasons. Matney will leave his starters in the entire time against Ashland. And it wont be because he has too either.

I am not questioning a fact, just wondering... who cares about an all-time series record? So Paintsville has won 7 more games than JC, who cares? Give JC 8 more apple bowl games and the series will be 21-20.

IF JC can keep everybody healthy, get some lucky bounes and breaks here and there... they have will be in the state title game. Winning state is a HUGE challenge for any team. JC has the coaches and players to win every game they play this season, they just have to bring it when they are under the lights!

I used "headline" wrong, I should have said caption under the picture. Whats my beef... I graduated from JC, that should be reason enough. Paintsville beat us my senior apple bowl, that will ALWAYS leave a bad taste in your mouth. No matter what, they (Paintsville) can always say that they were better than us (JC). You have to be a graduate from either school to really understand this rivarly.

What did we (JC fans) say about the Paintsville Herald? Does anybody remember? On the front page of todays paper, this what the headline reads... "Johnson Central celebrated its 56-6 Apple Bowl win Friday night at Paintsville's Memorial Field. The Golden Eagles topped the tigers for the 3rd consecutive year, notching their first three-peat in the 33-year history of the apple bowl. Paintsville leads the all-time series 20-13." Why is that important? The scoring is 154-18 (JC) for the past three apple bowls. In 8 more years the total wins will be 21-20, with JC leading.

How would you feel about a team that beat you for a district title the way Ashland did last year. Trust me, JC is not overlooking Greenup County.
