JC WILL NOT over look Greenup County. There is no way Matney and his staff will let that happen. This game is a perfect example of what Matney has said since he has been at JC... we arent here to beat Paintsville, we are here to win a state title. And this game is one step in that direction.

JC has their open week at the best possible time. They are on fall break that week and they have an extra week to prepare for Ashland. I dont think any players from JC got hurt in the apple bowl. The game against Greenup County might be the first game all season that JC has their full team healthy and has to leave their starting offense and defense in the entire game.

Johnson Central is coming into this game 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the district. While Greenup County is 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the district. This game very well could have a HUGE crowd. It is apple day friday night, JC destroyed Paintsville in the apple bowl, alot of former players and students will be in attendance to go along with the normal crowd and Paintsville has the week open. Matney will not look past Greenup County to get ready for Ashland. This game is very big because JC has to win this game to even think about getting a home play-off game. JC will be ready to play Ashland. They have a very tough district game next friday night vs. Greenup County. After JC plays Greenup County, then they have an open week. So this talk of already having the game won is crazy. If it all went down like it was supposed to, why play the game?

I think that JCBOE bought some property close to the school, and I think that a soccer field will be built there. The girls sports should all be fine. JC offers girls basketball, softball, swimming (JC put a brand new pool in this year), cheerleading, track, xc, soccer, golf and volleyball. I am also hearing talk of a tennis team for both boys and girls. So that is 10 boys sports and 10 girls sports.

The best thing about this game imo, it only comes once a year. In basketball these teams can play 3 or 4 times a season. But only there is only 1 apple bowl. Good win for JC, now JC has to start preparing for Greenup County in a big district game next friday night.

Shawn Grimm from Johnson Central. He has something like 1,300 yards in 7 games. In the apple bowl tonight, he had 6 td's, 34 yds recieving on one catch and 256 rushing on 15 carries.

JC broke their streak of not being able to win the apple bowl for 3 years straight. Now I think the question is how many records does JC want to break each year in this game.

I failed to mention that the Paintsville annoucer said something to the affect of... "we are competitors on the field, but we are neighbors first. " The announcer also said that the list that caused so much talk was written by an immature indiviual. Other than that list, it was a quit week here in Johnson County.

It's not apple day yet. I bet you wont be able to say that next friday night.

If you have been to Paintsville's field, you will know what I am talking about. The rail around the field was full all the way around and about 7 people deep. Paintsville might have had 500 people there. Everybody else was wearing black and gold. The bleachers on JC's side was full at 5:30. and most of Paintsville's bleachers were full of JC fans. There field is just way to small to host these kind of crowds.

The top 3 everybody should agree on.

I believe that Matney will be at JC for a very long time. But I could be wrong. Both teams came away injury free and showed good sportsmanship on the field. To my knowledge, there was no pranks or gags by either school.

Matney made a good statement in his post-game speech... "there is a team coming down the road in 3 weeks that I want to beat" that team being Ashland. First JC has to play Greenup County, then they have an open week, then play Ashland.

JC may be down 7 games in this series... give them 7 more years and they will be tied up. Who cares about an all-time series.

P-burg just might get that 2nd spot in the play-offs.

And the way the radio talked, the entire construction phase will be done by next school year. I cant wait to see Greenup County roll into the nest next week.

There was an apoligy made by Paintsville before the game for what was said in the "you might be a greaser" top 10 list. I'm glad an apoligy was made, but I'm also glad JC was able to do their talking on the field!

Unless somebody in the nfl calls him, he will be at JC for a long time.
