  1. Would love to see UK pull this one out. Really need to step it up a couple of nothches to hold SC with in check..... Another test of the programs progress. Earlier in the preseason, I think most die hards had this as a probable UK W.... Gonna be pretty tough to pull this one out.. Dont bet the mortgage, but I see the Cats by 2......... This would be the first momentum of the "Brooks" era..... Do you think they can pull it off????
  2. Would have liked to see homegrown talent stay close to home (Louisville) but it will be nice to see that aspect of the UK program be solid..... As an earlier poster said...ya snooze ya loose...
  3. It just may be my perception but it seems Mr. Petrino has a little attitude that the local kids are supposed to come to U of L ( as a walk on at least) and then if you dont,..... then we dont need ya type attitude... Anyone else observing the same???
  4. Contrats to Ryan and his family on this accomplishment. The young man has a future in kicking the football, on Sundays..... Good Luck and Congratulations.
  5. Im glad to see some of the T posters are actually acknowledging some of the problems I have ID'd in earlier posts... Lots of room for improvement on the St. X side of the ball, O, D and ST.... I really dont think this type of execution will cut the cake vs. Male and Trinity in November..... Good victory for the Tigers.... Keep working and improve each week..... Go Tigers !!!
  6. Any word on how Vic has done this week with rehab etc....?
  7. This game will be a measuring stick of the UK program. Off to a pretty good start this year at 2 - 2. CMU is supposed to be one of those "beatable" teams for UK. This game is in Lexington.... No excuses are accepted. UK needs the W..... A 13 + point victory and I say that "some" progress has been made.... Give the credit when do.... A narrow victory and leaves me feeling that Im not sure that they are making true progress. Take a W any way you can get it.... However, a L tells me that the ship is still sailing in the wrong direction..... Big Blue nation needs a BIG BLue W.... Go Cats....
  8. Auburn needs to win this game. Winning by 21 + would be very impressive on the road.....
  9. Im not writing them off. They clearly have some diffencies that need attention. What I saw Friday is a team that will struggle the rest of the season executing like the way they did..... I feel they have much better talent and abilities, no question. My point is that unless change is made and made quickly, it will be a surprise to make it to the third week of November.... This will be a tough road to hold.... I thought that the 06 Tigers were the real deal..... Looong way to go to get there and the season keeps getting shorter and tougher...... Sometimes you get what you earn.... We didnt earn anything Friday............. Time will tell...GO TIGERS !!!
  10. Please identify the items which you observed on Friday's quarter which give reason that St. X is playing at a championship level? I saw nothing......
  11. Obviously, he changed his mind.... I would be surprised that Friday was the first time ever that he has won the toss and elected to receive. I believe that a coach has the responsibility to make change as one see fit. I really feel that that decision had no influence on the outcome of the quarter.
  12. St. X Might be able to coast into the playoffs from here, although I don't think so.... Manual, PRP and Male will prove to be more than they can handle.... Have to pick up the intensity to match the speed of the game. If the Tigers don't pick it up, don't see'em giving Trinity anything to worry about in week #3 in November.......
  13. Amaizing what a poor performance, un focused approach, poor enthusiasm and general lack luster effort gets you..... even if it was for 10 miniutes.... St. X has proven they can play that bad..... Now, they need to prove they can play like they are capable (against good and very good teams)...... Time will tell.....
  14. When was the last time McCreary Co. beat anyone by a score of 42 - 0 ???
  15. Would you like sausage or red eye gravy on your train???
  16. I know this is a X vs. Manual thread but the reason for my pick is based on the observations of the X vs. T 1st qtr. (Im not going to call it a game...) X could not run the ball between the tackles and vic got manhandled several times in the quater and it sucked all the air out of his sails. Not sure how he is going to recover, mentally and physically..... Just way to many mistakes and looked as if the team was NOT focused on the task at hand... Manual is improved. Probably a good time to catch the tigers nappin..... X has a lot of proven to do.... IMHO, Yes they looked that bad against the rocks.......
  17. Look for a close game in this one. Not a real strong showing physically or mentally against the rocks..... No reason to think that all is well and cured in Tiger camp!!!! Manual in a close one: 20 - 16.
  18. Does anyone have stats on this game? I did not see the game and the score does not always tell the story. Just wondering what the stats looked like...
  19. I think its the calm befor the storm.... I really expected to be reading a lot of trash talk on here.... I think is a credit to both sides that each feels confident and respects the other. Looking forward to a great game tonight. Big plays will be a plenty for both. I think the biggest match up differential is the Trinity D vs. the X O.... I know the Trinity defense is tough although Im not convinced they have seen the number of weapons the X offense posesses. Question I have is will Coach G exploit all the weapons he has or just some of them (Chooseing to save for round 2???). I will be very impressed if the Trinity D can shut down the X O (assuming it is hitting on 6 of 8 cylinders). Flipping it around, T has a very quick RB which has put up some strong numbers thus far. The T passing game looks as if it is improving although I have ???'s X D has looked good against very good competition. Im sure both sides feel they have some wrinkels they can take advantage of... Basically..... Typicall St.X vs. Trinity September game... Toss up... Who ever is better prepared, (fewest major turovers), plays undercontrol and wants it more will win...... May the best team win.....
  20. Great Job St. X Bengle Tigers in your 13 - 7 win over the the Rocks...
  21. I would have to say that the margin of victory for the Tigers was a big "surprise" in 2004 and 2005 with respect to the September game. Looking at all the analysis, both teams have strong points although St.X has clearly played the more difficult schedule and has done well. With the additional week "off" to prepare for the Rocks, I see a very focused team in X given the result of last December. I don't see the Rock defense shutting down the X offense. I don't see the Rock Offense having a field day against the X defense either. I see big advantage to Trinity kicking game and big advantage to St. X ground game. Kicking game adds points in increments of 1 and 3, running game adds points in 6's...... Tigers by 12.... GO Tigers:dancingpa
  22. Ill have to look at my detailed scouting report prior to making any predictions. Still have some data to input from tonights Trinity vs. Southern game.... Still a few ??? on the Rock side.
