My reference to the 77 points is not that the starters will be in for longer than they should, I think that the 2nd and third strings will get some good PT and will show what they have been learning..... Its ment as a complement to the program....

How come there is no radio coverage of the game between Trinity and Southern. I know Trinity has a broadcast team etc. Anybody know the specifics as to why there is no radio coverage for tonights game???

X Grad => You make it sound as if this is a long hard road trip and harsh environment for T to play in.... Rocks will have no problem with this one.... Problably their highest scoring game of the season.....

Use the point spread method .....

When I think of the concept of "leveling the playing field" I come away with the following suggestions: (wink, wink) 1. In effort to Level the playing field and remove any "unfair advantage", a point spread will be assigned by the KHSAA. For example: If KHSAA determines that St. X has 100 players and Manual has 75 players then the point spread would be adjusted based off of this differential and the ability of those players. + 12 Points Manual 2. If the players for any one team, really worked hard during the offseason, then that team would have to give more points to its opponent in the spirit of "leveling the playing field". +10 Points Manual 3. If a team has more coaches then this is an unfair advantage because some people (coaches) may not want to volunteer at other schools. +5 Points Manual 4. If a team has had success in the past 10 years, this is observed as an unfair advantage and must be compensated for... + 11 Points Manual So now that we have made every effort to make sure that the Playing field is level we will start the game with the score at: St. Xavier 0 Manual 38 Now go play football and have fun. Please do not send remarks to KHSAA with reguards to the message this sends our youth of today....

I dont see St. X coming into this game and falling apart as they did against Moller in 2004 (St. X's first trip to Paul Brown Stadium). I feel as if the Tigers will be ready to play. No coming in sleeping this time.... From the HHS perspective, I think they have been looking forward to this game for a long time. The drubbing they took last year at Manual stadium from St. X did not set well with the Bluebird players, coaches and fans..... HHS will be ready to play without question.... I don not see a blow out for either team. I see a close game, going into the late 3rd Q befor one team gets a 10 point advantage.... When its over, Tigers win 22 - 17....

With the point of view that numbers is the primary reason that x and t win in football, how come that theory does not hold water when we apply this to the basketball equation..? If it were merely numbers, t and x would show dominance in basketball. Now, x does have 5 state championships in basketball, but they go back befor 1970.... Hard to say that this was a result of numbers....

I got a little laugh out of the CJ's reader corner today as well. If hard work, dicipline are all equal (as the writer claims) then how come the results are different for the fast majority of 4A public schools? Numbers? 11 on 11.... Its all an excuse to cover up the reality of "we cant compete".... Talking about it and pointing fingers will never raise the public schools to the level where they can compete on a consistent basis. Maybe the private schools shoud push for a basketball realignment because they cant win a championship......(Im just joking - If we cant win it, then we are obviously not good enough to win it......) I think working hard and being diciplined are steps to take in reaching the goal. Crying about realignment will not help private schools win a chmpionship in basketball...... Its all a matter of your perspective and your understanding of (or lack of) what it takes to be a champion..... They just dont give them away........

Maybe this week we will see improvement!!!! It would be a comfort to know that we made at least 50% of our PAT's in one game. I agree, lots of room for improvement. Time will help.!!!

We will keep him in the hunt for the Mr. Football award. Everyone can have a bad game now and then. He's got some ground to catch up considering Beaumont and Anderson performances this past weekend. I'm sure he is up to the task. Looking forward to seeing him take over a game as a Mr. Football candidate should....

It feels really good to know St. X is 2 -0. It feels even better to know the rocks are 0 - 1........ Just breath deep, everything will be OK....

I would anticipate a very focused rock team against Manual. Nothing against Manual, but they need to be ready for the rocks or they will be toasted.... I see trinity coming out running the ball, mixing a lot of pass as well. All said and done.... near equal yardage (and bunches of it...) for the running game and passing game for the rocks against Manual. Rocks by 28.....

I can remember just a few short weeks ago someone in the rock club said that they thought there would be a QB controversy at St. X this year between Wade and Zoller.....!! Well, after Friday night and last night, looks as if the controversy will be at trinity.... Petrino three INT's......against MBA. This kid was the mvp of the 4a state game last year. Threw three INT's all of last year.... Not to good a showing for a mr. football candidate.

Thanks for the clairification on the lack of goal posts for St. X practices (due to construction).... That explains a lot....

Guys ease up.... I'm pointing to the fact that these small observations could potentially cost a game.... There are some games one does not want to loose.... Would think that these would not normally be a problem, because we have had a strong kicking game and play calling (speed ) has not been a problem of the past. Yes, the second string kicker made the extra point after the 2 play drive to open the second half.

What was up with the decision making process after the first St. X touchdown???? Going for two and was not even close to being execuited...... Why and Why poor execution? This next point was really the point of this post.... Given the score at 6 - 0.... I would think that a coaching decision must be made immediately that if we score again in the 1st half, we are or are not going for 2...... Case... St. X scores second TD.... Chooses to go for 1 (with current kicking game, I think you need to practice in practice befor you practice in games.....) Lex Cath jumps on sides..... moves the ball to the 1.5 yard line. I would immediantly make the decision to go for 2.... 20 seconds went by befor there was any indication from staff to go for 2.......???????? Offense rushed out there only to be called for delay of game.... Eventually made the 2 point conversion, however not all opponents will give you this second chance..... Need to improve on the speed of play calling........

Great to see a solid game by the Tigers. Need to follow this up with an improved secondary against FC. Kicking game still needs work..... Kick offs, some went into the endzone.... some went to the 4...... Needs to be in the endzone each kick off!!!! Extrapoints, well lets just say that this will cost St.X a loss if this is not corrected, soon...... glad to see 2nd string kicker warming up at half and got the kick early in the second half. I would like to see him in there next week..... Overalll an excellent game, just need to improve this week and be ready for the Fern Creek Tigers!!!

Its a free country... The games are not free though....(unless you have a roof top seat, remember the 70's...) Pay for your ticket, sit anywhere you would like and cheer for whom ever you wish... I would suspect that the gate is split between both schools. St. X will pay the rent... for six more regular season games. Enjoy the game...

Good points rock 86. I realize no team had input of where they would endup... Yes, Male seems to have recieved a cakewalk in district play. I really don't think the realignment matters much. The same schools that have won championships will continue to win championships. The system will be gracious enough to let 0-10 and 1-9 teams in the playoffs..... This will be a benefit for the youngsters......... What a joke?
