As a X fan, it really doesnt matter.! Who ever moves the offense and is more productive, will win out in the long run... . If both have a chance to prove themselves in the first 3 or 4 games ( I strongly suspect that they will...) then all will be settled by the 5th game of the season..... It will work its way out. both will compete with "team" being the main concept. A real tribute to the kids, parents and coaches.... As a fan, I will observe who is more productive and efficient at running the offense in the first few games..... Then I will have a more objective opinion as to who should be leading the Tigers......... NOTE: The N0. 2 man must be prepared to "finish the job" if called upon ie. 1997 season ....(I think)......

I agree, If the tigers are to have several weapons..... they must be used and exploited to the point to bring home a W against BG.. I know the BG camp is strong and numerous.... Lets just have the Tigers show up and play hard..... Let the chips fall were they may......

Help me out... What year(s) did X play MBA and what was the score? Thinking back over the last several years, it seems that MBA has given the rocks all they wanted. Should be a good opening game for both, Ill take the rocks by 20.....

1) Pregame meals and refreshments with friends at Checks Cafe befor St. X games at Historic Manual Stadium.....(For the last year....) 2) St. X vs. Trinity ....Enough said.... 3) November Playoff games, Football day after Turkey Day and a State Championship game on THURSDAY NIGHT.....

Considering this being the first game for both X and BG, I think any coach would first want to get off to a good start, "W" and no injuries....! I too, will be satisfied with a "W" in the back pocket upon returning to Louisville. This will be quite a task, we will see if X is prepared and up to the challenge. Is it game day yet....?

I agree with you, this opening game will be big for both teams. The winner builds a tremendous amount of confidence going forward (Having a quality win over a quality opponent). The loser learns more than the winner.....( for making improvements etc.) Going to be a great game. I just hope the weather does not dictate the game. Would love to see a relatively cool day in the mid 80's for kickoff.... Time will tell.

Glad to see some objectivity used in the responses Im seeing here..... If we are to see 2 - 3 individuals step up and play outstanding offense or defense for the Tigers that would be great. At this point, I think it is early to predict these type of things.... time will tell...... And I cant wait...........:laugh:

I would not be so quick to jump on the "lack of hight" issue with Petrino. There have been many fine examples of outstanding athletes who achieved a very high level of play dispite their lack of height.... Spud Webb Doug Flutie Mark Higgs Dicky Beal Im sure there are many more, these just came to mind.....

Im thinking Doug Flutie like. You know, coaches son which has all the intangbles and all the inside knowledge to be the coach on the field. UK could use him..... I know that wont happen, however, He has U of L written all over him, he will give Cantwell a run for the No. 2 position next year.

Lets just hope its not as legendary as the past two September games, for the weeds sake......
