  1. I would call that play by Owens was desperation at best and you're not going to get that call in tourney time. I kind of thought he was out of control, might have been just from my view. There was a lot of time on the clock and I think he just rushed it under the heavy pressure from the on-ball defenders but the block was clean by Mofford.
  2. Big block by Mofford in the closing minutes and even bigger free throws to seal the deal!
  3. This is was a great game and Augusta played almost an error-free game. Big block by Mofford at the end, I think I predicted he would be huge for Augusta tonight.
  4. And their games against Bracken and Saint Patrick have been competitive?
  5. I'll be there cheering for them Panthers. URIT...do you think Damien will be pulling for A-Town or St. Patrick?
  6. I agree but I don't see Mason wanting to come to Augusta once a year.
  7. Packy Hinson was a great name for Augusta!
  8. I know many will disagree but I would like to see the 39th seed. I think it would boost the regular season atmosphere for games between Bracken, St. Patrick and A-Town. You win those games and you stay away from the Royals in the first round. I think it sounds good.
  9. Some fresh blood is nice for some schools. But, there is an unexplainable reason that kids that grow up here, especially in town, want to play as hard as they can for Robin. If you went to A-Town and lived in Augusta you would understand. It's mostly about pride but also he's just one of them, a nothing to lose, non-intimidated mentality that every Panther shares. No matter the odds Augusta always thinks they can achieve anything, nothing wrong with that.
  10. Talk about a goofball comment panther. Bracken just doesn't have the horses Mason does. Mason isn't the third ranked team in the state for nothing. Right now I think the districts are fine. But, I think they should seed them and put more emphasis on the regular season games so that you don't have to play Mason in the first round of the districts. I would rather control my position in the district than to let a coin decide it. It's not like St. Patrick, Bracken and A-Town are worlds apart overall. What does everyone think?...seed the 39th or not?
  11. Augusta and Saint Patrick should be an interesting game. The Saints are avenging a loss in last year's opening round of the 39th and have won all three meetings with the Panthers this season. I think we will have the pleasure of seeing many interesting games in the 39th for years outside of Mason County's first round district games.
  12. Congratulations to Marla Kelsch, she is a great person and is a great basketball person in the state of Kentucky. She helped an Augusta team get to the regional finals and went on to Murray State University where she played against high school teammate Connie Appleman (Morehead State University). She also boosted the Saint Patrick girls program in her early post-college days. She now coaches at Monticello High School in Monticello, Kentucky.
  13. I like the Panthers in this one. My boy Mofford is going to have a huge game Monday night down low. A-Town by five points, 66-61 in a thriller at the Fieldhouse.
  14. I'd like to see a box score. Maybe Fray will be on here to give the box.
  15. The High Potential camp will almost always find a school that will at least recruit you for junior varsity (NAIA) and you don't have to be invited, I think it's very cheap also. They send out a scouting report to many colleges throughout the country.
  16. When is Bracken going to nominate Mark Tucker and Adam Reed? Those guys were essential leaders for two regional championship teams. That's huge for the school.
  17. And they don't have to...I just think they should know that regardless of what they say people are still going to express their opinion. Coaches shouldn't get so frustrated with it because it's going to happen regardless.
  18. All I'm saying is that criticism (not all is bad either) should be taken lightly by the staff. I just think it's your right as a fan to state your opinion. If you (the coach or other fans) don't want to listen, then you don't have to.
  19. Back that up LadyBearMom. Tell me why my post is ridiculous.
  20. I totally agree, there are certain restrictions to a parent's opinons but one should know when they are going too far with their comments.
  21. Why be a fan if your opinion doesn't count? You can say it is ridiculous but isn't what this site is for is for fans to express their opinions? If it's not my duty to say what I want about my team then give me my ten dollars back. I'll just go to games, sit on my hands and wear tape on my mouth! It's not a democracy in the sense that my opinion doesn't matter in the end but if it weren't for fans and parents there wouldn't be funding for the program especially at a small school like my alma mater. Coaches shouldn't take it to heart for being criticized or second-guessed. That should be a requisite for hiring that the coach doesn't get frustrated with griping parents and fans. But, I'm not going to shut up just because I'm not the coach and neither are JOE SCHMO's parents.
