I actually had never heard anything about it either until I found out Flanery had been picked for the team. The event takes place somewhere in Indiana(I did know but forgot the name) where Kentucky and Indiana will have 4 teams consisting of two players. It is a one day, 36 hole event. The first 18 holes is four ball and the last 18 holes will be alternate shot.

Flanery recently took 3rd place in the Junior State-Am while taking medalist honors in his age divison. He was also one of 8 or 10 kids selected for the Junior Kentucky All-Star team.

I think everyone is underrating Elliott Co. bench. The only problem with the bench will be experience outside of Jon Morgan who has started or been the 6th man on this team since his sophmore year. Was a starter on the first team that went to the state tourney. Jared Flannery is an upcoming senior that will play valuable minutes that is very capable player. He has started for the last 3 years on the JV team and is a very good shooter. Is very similar to Tyler Maynard. He just needs experience. Another player that will play some minutes is 6'5" sophmore to be Jacob Ison. Very strong and is developing into another nice option in the post, but like Flannery just needs minutes.

Whether the catcher is guilty or not, it is obvious to me that the ball hits the batter's helmet.

Timmy Knipp, Elliott County. May end up being the biggest recruit from the state out of this class.

Your right about Elliott Co. They dont like to play top notch teams. Instead of going to the KOB they are going to the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach. I hear they will be some really weak teams down there.

I agree. Both teams are very good. Even though the DSAS were a little short handed in the post because of some injury, both teams are very equal and will be competetive across the nation this summer.:thumb:

They are an impressive team but to say they won with ease is a bit of a strech. They were 1-1 in the tournament aganist DS with their win coming by 5 points.

Derek Smith beat the Shinning Stars in OT tonight. I am pretty sure the final was 76-70. C.J. Penny played with the Shinning Stars tonight.

Jared Flanery(Elliott County) has to be considered as a top senior in the state. IMO the best golfer in the eastern part of the state.

I have seen Danis play. He is a very good golfer but not as good as Flanery.

The Derek Smith All-Stars should be pretty good and able to compete nationally this year. They have 9 pretty good players with a good mix of size and nice guard play. Flanery plays mostly AJGA events along with some Pepsi Tour.

Jared Flanery is hands down the best golfer in the region. Dagon is a good golfer who is on a very good team but if not for being on a good team he would have missed the state tourney the last two years.
