Well, team wise, the 12 Region lost Madison Central, Madison Southern, and Berea. It adds Montgomery County.

The top teams in the region will be Greenup Co., Elliott Co., and Montgomery Co.

As far as individuals, Dagon Abdon of Greenup Co., Flannery of Ellliott Co., and Ian Danis of Montgomery Co. should contend for the top spots.

I do not know Danis so i am sorry for leaving him out of this. I am a member at River Bend (Abdons home course) and have played a lot of golf with Dagan. I have never been more impressed by the talent of an individual, if he can keep his head on straight he will be fine. I have played with Jared a few times and he is a great golfer, and you will never meet a better kid.

You are totally correct with your comments. Dagan's parents are super people and have raised a super kid. Same with Jared.

Ashland usually has one or two good golfers, will that be true this year?

They lost a good golfer in Limpach last year. Also Whittaker from Johnson Central is going to be strong! Flannery from Elliot has the complete game. Abdon from Greenup is great,but can he keep his head out of the way? Honorable mention go to Logan from West Carter, Barber from Rose Hill, Ethan Faulkner from Elliot. I know i'm missing some, but these are the scores from last years regional tournament that stuck out and thati remember best. If it were the same region as last year I'd have to say that Stuart Witt would be the best player.

Ian Danis ranked 39th last year (NJGS), in Kentucky. Expecting a strong senior season this year. Should be right at the top in this region. Great kid great family also.

Jared Flanery is hands down the best golfer in the region. Dagon is a good golfer who is on a very good team but if not for being on a good team he would have missed the state tourney the last two years.

I have heard of Flannery, but neither(Flannery or Dagon) kid is ranked on the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (njgs.com) for Kentucky. Have they just not played enough of those types of events? That being said Danis is ranked 9th in the state for class of 2009. Not trying to say the others are not the best in the region, just don't have any scores posted on one of the tools for evaluating high school golfers.
