Like everyone else, I assume Holmes, CCH or Highlands will win the region. However, I never count out St. Henry. Sure, they're a longshot, but with a favorable draw and Dave Faust coaching, anything can happen.

ND dominates from start to finish. HC glad this was district finals so they're still alive. Where are the ND students? There were literally only 6 on the ND side! They were easy to count because there were only about 75-100 total people on that side. It was so bad that the HC students split up in the fourth quarter and cheered "against" each other. This ND team deserves their student bodies support. Maybe they'll come out for the regional.

The bottom line ,newspaper wise ,is we all miss the Ky Post! It usually had very good coverage for high school basketball in NoKy. The Enquirer is getting better, but still has a long way to go.

HC hangs tough for about 3 1/2 quarters but miss free throws down the s- tretch and Colonels make them to pull away. CCH- Shover 21, Bondick 14, Grimes 11, Schmerge 7, Maile 6 & Roll 2. HC- Sorrell 28 (13 rebounds), Giwa 10, Eastin 6, Roenker 5 & Volpenhein 2.

HC has reeled off 9 straight wins, including wins over Conner, Holmes & NCC. Big game Thursday with Notre Dame in the finals. No district winner in the regional tournament is going to want to draw the loser of that game.

HC- Sorrell 35 pts 10 rebounds, Giwa 19 pts 6 assists Scott- Gilgoravich 14 pts 8 rebounds, Hiller 11 pts, O'Connor 9 pts Soph O'Connor impressed me. He's going to be very good before he graduates.

Agreed! It would be great to see Henderson & Sorrell play together, rather than argue who's better. Bought two seats at the new arena with a 3 year commitment for just this reason. Hopefully, McGraw will come on board too.

Don't know where you got your numbers, but Sorrell has attempted over 100 threes and is hitting 43.5%. 54% FG is accurate.

Jerry Rump of Holy Cross was recruited by The Baron and played one year at Kentucky in the late 50's.

You're exactly right. They are very well coached and seem to be peaking now. Tough first disrict game vs Holmes, but if they can get by that, they will be a real tough draw for someone in the Regional.

There was a team that won the 9th Region Championship by more than 31 points since that '68 CCH team Old Guy. The '72 Holy Cross Indians beat Holmes 90-58 in the Championship game that year. Actually, this may have been the most dominating regional performance ever. HC beat Newport 97-69 in the opener, then beat Conner (at Conner) 99-76 in the semis before the 90-58 championship game. The Indians went on to beat Laurel Co. in the State Tourney opener where starting point guard Joey Meier blew out his knee. Without his leadership, they lost the next game to Bryan Station with Goose Givens & Ted Hundley.

Haven't seen her play yet this year, but from the press clippings, I would think Stephanie Hodges from Conner should be on the list somewhere.
