Ironlung Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 HC hangs tough for about 3 1/2 quarters but miss free throws down the s- tretch and Colonels make them to pull away. CCH- Shover 21, Bondick 14, Grimes 11, Schmerge 7, Maile 6 & Roll 2. HC- Sorrell 28 (13 rebounds), Giwa 10, Eastin 6, Roenker 5 & Volpenhein 2.
nkysportslegend Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Final. Can someone provide details? Not sure how many he ended up with but Sorrell had 15 at the half, Giwa was the only other HC player to score in the first with 9. HC would make a run and cut it to 3 or 4 but CCH would go right back up by 8-10. A pretty good game though. The officiating was awful, and I'm not usually one to say that.
ColonelNation32 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 C. Sorrell was on fire in the 1st half and had about 15 at half. In the second half he didnt have as much. Cov Cath shot the ball very well. Bondick had a very good game and so did Shover. I think the refrees were really bad tonight and had bad calls on both sides. I was very disappointed about the Colonel Crazy. They have been down this year in numbers and how loud they are.
Shutitdown Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Great team effort by Cov Cath. Sorrell had 25-30 I'm sure. I've never seen a team so focused on one player. He is a tremendous talent but doesn't have much help or anyone else really looking to shoot. Giwa had 12-15 most all in transition. Sorrell and Giwa missed 4 out of 5 FT's with about 3 minutes left that would have cut it to 3-4pts. Sorrell took a beating and earned everything he got.
ColonelNation32 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I dont think Giwa had no more then 10 points. He forced to many shots up.

madman Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Congrats to Cov. Cath. Nice win against a tough rival.
9thregionbb Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Congrats to Cov. Cath and good luck to Sorrell as he goes on to NKU, it was nice watching you play over the years.
Flotsam Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Sorrell was on fire...again. I don't know if he saves these games for the Colonels or if Cov. Cath. just doesn't match up well, but the guy looked like Larry Bird tonight. The Holy Cross student section had a great cheer. Moses in a toga complete with a staff....parts the Red Sea of the Indian student section from the floor to the top of the lower level. Very creative. Well executed. The game was nip and tuck until Shover was fouled in the act of draining a 3. Holy Cross never recovered from that 4 point possession. Cov. Cath. played very solid. Balanced attack. As a long time Colonel fan who enjoyed cheering for Tom and Steve Sorrell in the 70's, I want to wish Corey the best at NKU. He is going to be fun to watch in the new Bank of Ky Arena. The only glitch in the evening was when a lone lunatic came into the Cov. Cath. student section and started hassling the kids. Kudos to Cov. Cath. principal Clines for quickly hailing the police to dispense some swift Covington P.D. justice.
ColonelNation32 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I am pretty sure that he had either 15 or 18 at half.
