Holy Cross 48 Holmes 47

Featured Replies

I was just told this was final.

Wow, defending region runner up knocked out by a team with only 4 wins last year. Impressive.

Hats off to Corey Miller and Holy Cross.

HC has reeled off 9 straight wins, including wins over Conner, Holmes & NCC. Big game Thursday with Notre Dame in the finals. No district winner in the regional tournament is going to want to draw the loser of that game.

Coach Miller has done a great job at HC this year. He should get some coach of the year votes.

Looks like HC made their lay-ups in the second half. A lot of missed lay-ups in the first, otherwise they would have had the lead at half and maybe pulled away.

Congrats Indians!

Great job by the Indians. Congratulations and good luck in the Regional..

What a difference a new year and a new coach makes. Congrats Coach Miller

Congrats and good luck. Hard to believe they only won 4 games last year....

Remember this is a different team this year -- not just coaches -- Noll quit the team early last year and Howard was out a major portion of the season with a acl injury. Noll has made a difference playing inside the latter part of this season working hard in the paint -- she's strong and not afraid to shoot. Howard's been able to work more outside on short jump shots and she can hit the 3 when she decides to shoot it. -- So, it's also a new team this year as well as new coaches.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info, I didn't know all that. But still going from that to where they are now is a big turn around. That is great for those kids!

I agree, a big turnaround, but that may have still happened had they not gotten a new coach. Kues proved year in and year out to produce very good teams and just because last year was a down year (because of facts already stated) you can't say it was just because of the coach. Having said that, I am not saying Coach Miller is not a good coach because surely he knows the game, but everyone always blames or rewards the coach for everything that happens. It's just the nature of the beast.

I imagine this has been echoed in Union as well. :thumb:

Congrats to coach Miller and the Indians.

Those two players make a hugh difference in te team, along with the added maturity of Bibbens and Flesch. This will be a scarey team to play in the regional.

Holy Cross had great athletes and this year they are turning into basketball players.
