Whose the guy in Clay? Word on the street is that it was to be announced early this week and they had actually asked Gray to come back.

Sounds like he's going to be very busy.

I agree and I'm sure 51513 agrees even more. Once you leave middle school your accomplishments are soon forgotten. Middle school is just a traing camp. Friday nights under the lights is something you never forget.

What about Dobbs? Wasn't he the leading reciever last year. Did he graduate?

I would think he would have to be declared eligible by the KHSAA first which could take awhile, especially if Dudley's lawyers are called in.

The only thing I can pick out of this statement is that you think Coach Stepp and Coach Gilbert have something to do with the hiring of a new BB coach at Clay Co.

Chapell is definitely out at PCC. Mountain news just had the announcement that Bert Browne is the new head coach at PCC. If Chapell isn't hired at SL, he could be out in the cold.:confused:

The word is that it's Chappel from Perry Central. Same school colors I believe.

What happened to your middle school coach that was there a couple of years ago? Did he teach? When you have no control of your players, you will LOSE.

Sounds like Clay's season could be headed south. A strong willed coach could possibly put on the brakes. Losing to KC that bad is not a good sign.

Hazard tv today reported that South was to name a coach today but something has held up the announcement. Another web site is saying it will be the guy form Perry Central. Will it be him or a local guy? Does anyone know what happened?

I hope you're right. Clay should do everything possible to keep Coach Stepp and his staff. Sometimes people forget what it was like only a few years ago there. To keep up with Bell, Rock, and Letcher (all have great facilities) will be tough but can be done. SKINPIG, it's good to see you back. I was beginning to think you were all basketball.

He and his staff have done a super job. I can't recall anyone changing from one of the state's best rushing teams to one of the state's top passing teams in a year's time. There is a lot of young talent. The problem has always been keeping that talent. This staff seems to be doing that. All that being said, I still hear some talk of Coach Stepp looking elsewhere.

Would SL consider Stepp from Clay Co.? He's not really from Clay, he is always looking for another place and he is definitely an offensive whiz.
