The Turpin Coach then decided to IW the next two batters to load the bases with one out but then with a change of pitchers he on a 3-1 count walked Schneider to force in the winning run in.

This game will be continued from the point of the stoppage at a date and time to be announced. Both teams are willing to play this game out and then play another game directly after all at Badin

CovCath 0 Hamilton Badin of the GCL (Ohio) 0 11 innings game called due to darkness The very, very good Sophomore Sean Casteel with his 1st Varsity Start goes 7 complete innings of 0 hit's, 0 runs, 3 strikeouts, 1 walk while facing only 22 batters and throwing just 64 pitches. The Good CovCath had only 1 error in 11 innings of baseball earning 33 outs with 19 assists Ben France 2/4 Jack Coldiron 1/4 Triple Zach Michels Pitches the 8th, 9th, and 10th and Evan Stallman pitches the 11th in keeping the Rams off the scoreboard. The Bad CovCath had the bases loaded in the 1st inning and was unable to score and then had a man on third with 1 out and didn't score. The UGLY Nothing really in tieing a very good Badin team from the GCL

No was the D/H in the Conner game and pitched and won vs. Holy Cross (Cov) today.

The good the bad and the ugly of the CovCath 9 Holy Cross (Cov) 4 game played today. The good: Junior Jack Maile in his first AB's of the season, hit 2 HR's one that hit just right of the new scoreboard about half way up (340 1st)and the other that cleared over the 345 (2nd) mark. Jack scored 2 runs and had 4 RBI's Senior Mo Thiel 2/3 2 runs scored Senior Ben France (1-0) 3 innings of no hit, no runs baseball with 5 K's 43 pitches 16 of the 19 CovCath players, got an AB today. The bad Allowing Holy Cross two HR's one being hit by Finke that was hit over the 380 mark and Webster over the 340 mark. The ugly 3 errors by fielding and throwing. CovCath improves to 1-1 and next plays Hamilton Badin @ CovCath on Monday, April 27 with the first pitch coming at 5:00 pm.

CovCath is especially young this year with a few season-opening injuries. The only starting player playing against the Cougars on Friday was Eckerle pitching Schrand C was a sub last year and is playing due to Kennedy being out injured Cody 3B JV player last season Schneider SS JV player last season had a few games as a DH and PR/CR as a varsity player Colvin 2nd JV player last season Thiel LF varsity sub last year Dietz CF JV player last season Coldrion RF JV player last season Maile 1B Did not play last season due to injury Also, no excuse but the NDA prom was Friday night and I think a young man or two on the CovCath Baseball team, had other things on their mind. Come on guys, you remember back in the day.:-) These are young but good players who will by the end of the year be very good but they are just getting their feet wet on the Varsity level and it will be some walking prior to running.

Ohio to the best of my Knowledge only plays 22 regular season Basketball games and BTW their State Tourney is still going on, since they play at numerous HS gyms throughout the State as it isn't done the same whey KHSAA does Ky.. Why move the girls to Rupp. In the Ninth Region the girls play at the BB&T the same as the boys and few fans attend the games that would't fill up Holmes, Ryle, Conner or Cooper HS gyms and the BB&T looks empty for their games, while even on the worst days the boys have, decent crowds watch and most couldn't be played at a local HS gym, unless you emptied the gym after each game.

Strange but True. In the 50th year of the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen in Louisville Freedom Hall 1967 a Ninth Region team (CovCath) was the Runner-up and 50 years later in Lexington Rupp Arena 2017 a Ninth Region team (Cooper) was the Runner-up. Don't really remember what Region Earlington was from but if they were from the same Region as BG, WOW......

When was the last time two teams from NKy were in the KHSAA Boys Sweet Sixteen Final Four?

Have seen both, CovCath has defeated both, one by 17 (BG their last loss at the KOB) and the other (Scott by 36 at CovCath). Bowling Green wins. Really happy for Coach Fromeyer and his team but just can't see them beating Bowling Green.

To the best of my knowledge, ND and UC have not offered. X offered quite a while ago, in fact Coach Mack was at so many Saturday morning practices, that if you didn't know better, you would have sworn that he was part of the CovCath Coaching staff.

I believe it is an ad for St. E's and not from the KHSAA. I also believe it is Holy Cross (Cov) holding up the trophy in this ad, as I watched the pregame ad on the video and saw this. Notice the St. E's web address on the bottom on the page!

Good game and nice crowd. SK as was posted, had far too many TO's to win vs. a very good team.

I honestly hope that many of you go out and purchase the book, as I know how much time, energy and effort Jarrett put into his book. The hours he put in were endless and I honestly worried about him upon leaving CovCath and driving to either Taylor or Clay by himself late at night. He would listen to anyone and everyone's stories and sought out people who we would suggest might have some good tales for him. He always had his ears open and asked a ton of questions, about CovCath, or the teams we were playing but never crossed the line to get a story nor got in the way of practice or games but he seemed to be always there and I am rather certain the team members at both Taylor and Clay would say the same thing. Me personally? I am looking forward to reading about the CovCath vs. Taylor game accounts but I won't go any further here about that game. Goog luck Jarrett looking forward to reading your book.

If you go to the BB&T to watch a basketball game and not to eat, it's a great venue, it really is. If you go to eat snacks, drink Pepsi, it's costly but not any more than any college/major arena. The sight lines are great, you sit in a very comfortable cushion seat, clean and plentiful restrooms, easy parking and not a hard place to get to or leave from. Yes, you pay to park but at least you can find a place to park and within a close distance to your seat, unlike some HS gyms which over the years have hosted the Ninth Region Tourney. I honestly don't understand the haters. No, it's not an HS gym but you wouldn't have had all the people who attended the games Saturday night, in any HS gym in the Ninth Region and a lot of those fans wouldn't even have tried to attend those games if played in an HS gym. BTW I believe NKU is on Spring Break.

Vonhandorf scored 18 points on 6-of-13 field-goal shooting to go along with seven rebounds. C.J. Frederick added 15 points, and Aiden Ruthsatz had 13. Hunter Meyer had a game-high 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting in the loss.

Should mention that after the offer from IU in the game vs. Madison Central, a reporter from TheHoosier.com came to the CovCath vs. Holmes game all the way from Bloomington, Ind to see CJ play.

So go ahead and knock the men/women who wear the Stripes if you wish but remember this, there are no games without Stripes and if you think one or two of them are so bad, then I am sure the person in charge, will be more than happy for you to put the stripes on and give it a go doing a game. Easy to sit up in the stands and complain and second guess, it's another thing to put on the shirt and do it! Thank you, gentlemen and ladies, for your dedication, hard work, and commitment to our youth who play sports.

Girls and Boys from what I was led to believe, can't play in different gyms on the same night at the same time during the District tourney. Thus the Girls playing at Beechwood with a small gym could only play one game per night and they played Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The Boys playing at Holy Cross again in a small gym couldn't handle two games in one night thus Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Not the first time this has happened if memory service me correctly, it used to happen in the 36th District at times as well.
