KY High School Basketball Book: You Ask The Author Questions

Jarrett Van Meter is a young man from Lexington who spent the entire 2015/2016 high school basketball season doing a behind-the-scenes all-access look at 3 KY high school teams - Covington Catholic, Taylor County, and Clay County.

 

He got to go to practices, got in the lockerroom before , during, and after games to hear coaches and players, rode the busses, got to know the individuals, and see how each school and community operates.

 

I've read part of the book and it's really interesting. The access is much more than I thought he would have. The comments he reports are not always easy to hear or read - coaches can be blunt sometimes.

 

It really gives a good look beyond what you and I see on the floor during 32 minutes of action.

 

With that said and with the book coming out this month Jarrett is going to do a BGP Q&A. Use this thread to ask questions about anything related to this project. He will review them and we'll post the responses.

 

Again, book is really good. Access and openness by the 3 schools is something we don't often see.
