As a proud member of this team, I don't know if I would score that many or even get many rebounds, as the others would never miss but I would have a ton of assists! :banana: Then again, us scorekeepers do stick together, so maybe the stats would have me earning a quad, quad, quad! :lol2:

Hey I love HS Baseball and Football but honestly the Ninth Region at least for the last few years has been outstanding in the KHSAA for Basketball. Cooper Sweet Sixteen runner-up, NCC, Final Four CovCath State Champs and Sweet Sixteen runner-ups and I even haven't mentions Holmes. Yes at least for the last 10 years or so, the Ninth has been at the top of the KHSAA in Basketball.

I love how the windows slant down away from the field instead for just straight up and down. You will be able to stand or much closer to the window this way inside the press box!

It's up but not yet in useable condition. A lot of work still needs to be done prior to the NCC Scrimmage game.

Funny you should mention that! :-) In one of our first Baseball practices on the field, following the 1967 football season, I hit a line shot to left field and I guess with the ground being so beat up, it took a funny bounce once it hit the ground and broke my best friend nose. "OB" was none too happy with me for it! Couldn't get a lot of local teams to play us in the early years, and I don't know if it was due to having games scheduled out such a long time in advance, or that our Basketball team (remember CovCath won five straight Ninth Region Championships) was beating the local teams so badly back in the day, that they wouldn't play CovCath Football. That large storage closet was where the Bingo stores its tables and Bingo equipment today. Just to the right as you enter the gym near the visitor's bench. A lot of the guys that played for the Dixie Heights "Little Colonels" Football team at the time, Parton, Padgett, Tanner, Horton, Parrott, Elliott, Gardner and others, I played pee wee football with in the Big City of Bromley!

The first Varsity Football year (1967) found CovCath practicing on the baseball outfield. Now you must realize this was well before the current outfield wooden fence was in place and in fact a road ran along side the outfield from Park Hills, all the way to the Dixie Hwy and yes there was a bit of traffic, so you had to be careful at times. More from my memories of a time so very, very long ago, as we get closer to the season opener.

I am so looking forward to this upcoming 50th year of CovCath Varsity Football! New Stadium, Permanent LED Lights, New Press-Box, all on Friday Night!

Clyde, since the official scorer didn't list it as a SB, then it has to be a error! I mean, it is either a SB or an Error. Runner can't move to 2nd base on a failed Pick off attempt without it being the one or the other, correct? My guess is the computer scoring app, made a error!

Then wouldn't the runner have been credited with a stolen base?

Funny since this upcoming school year is my 50th since graduating from HS, I got to thinking of some friends of mine who back in the day kept the Football and Basketball stats by hand without the support of a computer. They never complained about the time it took or the extra work and those guys were very, very smart, as they were done or almost done before we got on the bus to go home. Today we push a couple of buttons and presto, the stats are printed out and sent out to the local media and Coaching staff. What a change from today.

You're not from Northern kentucky are you? Our local newspaper The Cincinnati Enquirer post so little HS game information that it's a joke and a lot of the local teams don't even send anything in anymore due to the lack of coverage. Why do you think so many NKy people post and read BGP's Programs? Really? More time and money to print that information than to post it for free through the KHSAA.

Baseball doesn't have that rule about film, as I have never seen a baseball team film a game in all my years. Your correct, coaches don't need them but I bet they peek at times but... do you think the kids just might? Do you think a Grandfather who lives a couple hundred miles away might like to see how that Grandson or Granddaughter of his is doing? Do you think maybe a player's older brother who is in the Military just might get a huge thrill about little brother stats back home, or a Dad or Mom out of town working might like to see how their child did in last night game? Even a former grad who has moved away might like to follow his old school to see how they are doing. Your correct, coaches don't need them but...........

So you don't think Coaches look at the other teams stats to see how a pitcher is throwing or just how many pitches their ace has thrown? Wanna bet that every Baseball Coach playing in this week's State Tourney is looking at the KHSAA boxes scores, or calling up a friend to find out a little about the team he is playing? Because some teams currently playing in the state turney didn't bother to post their stats, who benefits? The team who followed the rule handed down by the KHSAA, or the team who didn't follow the rule!

Show me a huddle film of a baseball game? In all my years of doing baseball games, I have never seen a Baseball team tape a game and again at least in baseball, there is no rule of sharing or trading film.

You assume that no other schools does what you do, for their team? Honestly, I have found that the majority of the teams in Football and Basketball at least, more times than not are pretty straightforward, if for no other reason, than to give their players some notoriety.
