  1. and St X pays them I assume good money, or they get sponsors to pay them good money to broadcast those games.
  2. I will take the LHL and CJ sports over the Cincinnati Enquirer any day. BTW if your into HS Football in the Greater Cincinnati area Tri State Sports has an excellent radio show on 1360 and 1530 each Friday night starting at around 9pm until 12 midnight giving scores, stats, talking to Coaches and players from games all over the Greater Cincinnati area and that includes NKy and Ind. If your schools sends in your stats to them, you will get mentioned not only the score but stats. They do a real nice job of it. Radio – TriStateFootball.com
  3. Christ Christmann, Alex is 6'2 and btw his Father is the Head Coach of Cincinnati McNick Baseball team.
  4. SC fans, get there early as parking is a pain if your not a Lancer fan!
  5. About the bold: CovCath starting defense gave up only 7 points to Ryle (the other 10 were given up late in the game) on the first play of that game. The 2 points that were scored by LexCath was earned via a safety on a bad snap during a punt. CovCath shutout Cooper and yes all 14 points vs. Kings were against the 1st team defense. So the CovCath 1st team "D" has only given up a total of 7-0-0-14 = 21 divide that by 4 and the 1st team "D" has only given up 5.25 points so far in 4 games. Also IMHO Kings beats any of the other three teams (Ryle, LexCath and Cooper), CovCath has played so far! BTW nice article! :thumb:
  6. 0.16 cents a gallon in 1966 and they washed your windows, checked your oil, tire pressure, gave you green or yellow stamps and usually a gift of china or such. I can clearly remember when my Dad would tell the gas station attendant to fill up his Chevy Belair and hand the guy $3.00 and he would get change back!
  7. You jokingly got on me about the Company line last week!

  9. Nope, just mine and as I told Guru, all you have to do, is look at my past posts and you will see I have said this for a long long time.
  10. The folks in Ohio laugh when I tell them the number of teams in each one of our six Divisions and think what we call a State Champion in Football is indeed laughable and can't quite understand why so many teams make the playoffs and why Ky has so many divisions with so few teams. Then I tell remind them that in Basketball we have only one State Champion while they have how many? :-) As far as your prediction, Guru you aren't going to like this but.... One game at a time, one win at a time and getting better each time out. The next game is against Beechwood, so Beechwood is the only game CovCath will worry about this week. You and others can predict all you want but CovCath will work and get ready for Beechwood and Beechwood only.

  13. OK, OK long day at work and short, shot lunch break today. :sssh:
  14. King of the Bluegrass! If you have never attended, your missing out on some great High School Basketball games. This year Cooper, CovCath (9th Region) and Walton Verona (8th Region) all will be playing in the KOB and I can only assume that the Schedule will be out soon.
  15. Don't let him fool you, he has no more insight than anyone else, as the information is available to anyone, as they are off the Cincinnati Enquirer Website.
  16. Tough game to root for one team or the other. My Brother Son, our Nephew graduated, from OK Sister of "The Boss" our niece, graduated from Ohio State. Love both the kids will root for both.
  17. Maybe this isn't the right spot to mention this and they really might not like that I am posting this but a huge thank you to the CovCath Basketball Teams in volunteering to clean up Griffin Stadium after each home Varsity Football game. No they are not getting paid, they just wanted to support their School, Classmates and Friends on the CovCath Football Team and since they are already there, they clean up after the game. Well except this Friday night when they waited until Saturday morning, prior to the JV game to clean up. Volunteer they do but crazy they are not! :thumb:
  18. The Boss and I went to Otto's in Covington on Main Street this Sunday early afternoon. Both of us chose the Crab Hash: Lump Crab, Potato hash topped with a poached egg and spicy sour cream sauce. The Boss had bacon with hers and I had the Potato Cake. We have eaten both off the Brunch and Dinner menus more than a few times and have yet to have a bad meal or poor service. Quality of the food and service has always been top notch and yes it can be a bit more expensive than some but I would much rather pay a bit more and have a great meal and treated well, then go someplace to save a buck or two and eat crap and get treated like such. If you go, make a reservation as the place is always busy.
  19. While Coach Eviston has done a great job, I think he would not want anyone to think he did this all by himself. Below are his Assistant Coaches Terry Brown, Ben Patenaude, Ashley Moser, Tyler Gross, Sam Beiting, Lee Teegarden, Lynn Ray, Bryson Warner, Zeke Pike, Shahram Shafii, Ryan Studer, Dan Ryan, Joey Ledonne and Mark Reisinger. Bob Rowe Principal and Tony Bacigalupo Athletic Director Al these gentlemen have done a outstanding job.
  20. POWER FIVE Each week Jason Frakes will provide his ranking of the top five teams in the state, regardless of class: * No. 5 – Pleasure Ridge Park (3-0). Panthers’ defense was solid in a 21-0 victory over Eastern on Thursday. Up next: hosts North Hardin (1-1) on Friday. * No. 4 – Covington Catholic (3-0). A.J. Mayer threw three touchdown passes as the Colonels blanked Cooper 41-0 on Friday. Up next: at Kings (Ohio) (1-1) on Friday. * No. 3 – Scott County (3-0). Brice Fryman rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals beat Highlands 71-20 on Thursday. Up next: hosts Cincinnati Moeller (1-1) on Friday. * No. 2 – St. Xavier (2-0). Tigers racked up 343 rushing yards – led by Brett Metzmeier’s 141 – in Saturday’s 30-19 victory at Bowling Green. Up next: hosts Fairdale (1-1) on Friday. * No. 1 – Trinity (3-0). Nick Bohn passed for 490 yards and Rondale Moore had 22 catches for 304 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-30 victory over Cincinnati Moeller on Saturday. Up next: at Male (3-0) on Friday.
  21. WAY BETTER than the 2006 State Champions or any other of the State Championship Football teams at CovCath? That we will have to wait and see!
  22. Nope if you check back over the many, many, many, years I have posted on BGP's you will see this over and over again. When you look ahead, you get beat by the team you are overlooking. One win at a time, one game at a time and getting better each and everytime out has and always will be what I preach.

  24. BTW with all the love for the Offense think about this if you will. The only score that the first Team Defense has given up so far this season, was the 1st play vs. Ryle where Chisholme from Smith went for a 75 yards TD, after that, only the second and third team has given up points against CovCath, as will as a safety on a bad snap on a punt. First team defense Vs Ryle 7 points Vs. LexCath 0 points vs Cooper 0 points
