The cost is more than most understand, driver, diesel fuel, and snacks/food for about 30 kids to and from for coaches and mgrs too. As you know, our JV did play "T" at St. Matthews and if I was told correctly, (I couldn't get off work earlier enough to make the trip South), most didn't get home to nearly 11pm on a Monday night.

Did I just read that BGP's and Sinbad 74 will cover the cost of traveling to Louisville or for them to travel North to Park Hills for Freshmen games? WOW thank you and I will pass on your kind offer to cover that cost to our AD and Coaches.

Got to say that #12 Roy for Conner is a stud in the making! The kid ran, caught, and made tackle after tackle. TOG tips his hat to this young man for his play tonight.:thumb:

This coming Friday night Oct 13th when CovCath host Highlands, the players from the 1st CovCath football team (1967) along with the six teams that have won a KHSAA Football Championship (1987, 88, 93, 94, 97 and 2006) will be honored at Halftime. Wooten Field at Dennis Griffin Stadium under the light on a Friday night, with the young and old Colonels Football teams members attending this game! WOW, has it really been 50 years ago! Looking so very forward to this Friday night!

To be fair to the Red Colonels fans, this thread is supposed to be about the Highlands vs Dixie game.

BTW Coldiron is visiting Northwestern today!

One thing that CWB didn't mention was after the FG by Gronotte, CovCath with about 2 minutes left in the game, took out it's starting D and replaced them with the Senior who hadn't played while Chatard kept in their starters. Those seniors did a great job in keeping Chartard starters from scoring again.

The above was handed out to all the Class of 1968 in attendance at our monthly get together this afternoon and will be sent out to those who were not in attendance. I have heard all of the Class of 1968 football members of that 1st Varsity Football Team plan on attending the game.

His cousin Luke Maile won Mr. Baseball without winning a State Baseball Title of course he was the Player of the Year three straight years in the Ninth Region in Baseball and went to Kentucky and I am not sure AJ has even played in 16 quarters so far this season.

The Ft. Thomas fans would be screaming, as I know some of the HHS players left HHS to play for BYE each week and the HHS faithful are none to happy about it, claiming those kids were weak since they played BYE each and every Friday.

He was and his fellow linemen were also, all living the dream with him, of scoring a TD! :-)

The bigger problem for CovCath is that it is scheduled at BYE home field and they are not letting us know where that is at? BYE has told the CovCath AD that they will inform CovCath on Thursday where the game will be played but after playing BYE in the past, I don't know if they can be trusted. Surely someone has played BYE on their home field and maybe give us a head up about the location?

In the game of the year at BYE home field, the Colonels of CovCath take on the best team CovCath will play this season. BYE, while never having won a game, BYE without a doubt has played the toughest schedule of any team from Kentucky, sometimes playing multiple games each Friday. The Crazies have promised a few surprises in the stands and the Coaches have worked on a few new wrinkles. Calpreps has it going the way of BYE, by 2 TD's and even the local BGP's experts have it going BYE way. Of note: I won't be attending this outstanding game as "The Boss" and I are going away this weekend for for our 47th anniversary.

Gee was a little disappointed with giving up the 7 points last night, (j/k) as it did increase the amount of points given up by the #1 defense from 4.8 points a game to 5.16 points a game. Coach Brown and his crew of "D" Coaches has done a wonderful job and I am just wondering when Michael will start getting on some major D1 radar screens.
