  1. The Ft. Thomas fans would be screaming, as I know some of the HHS players left HHS to play for BYE each week and the HHS faithful are none to happy about it, claiming those kids were weak since they played BYE each and every Friday.
  2. He was and his fellow linemen were also, all living the dream with him, of scoring a TD! :-)
  3. The bigger problem for CovCath is that it is scheduled at BYE home field and they are not letting us know where that is at? BYE has told the CovCath AD that they will inform CovCath on Thursday where the game will be played but after playing BYE in the past, I don't know if they can be trusted. Surely someone has played BYE on their home field and maybe give us a head up about the location?
  4. In the game of the year at BYE home field, the Colonels of CovCath take on the best team CovCath will play this season. BYE, while never having won a game, BYE without a doubt has played the toughest schedule of any team from Kentucky, sometimes playing multiple games each Friday. The Crazies have promised a few surprises in the stands and the Coaches have worked on a few new wrinkles. Calpreps has it going the way of BYE, by 2 TD's and even the local BGP's experts have it going BYE way. Of note: I won't be attending this outstanding game as "The Boss" and I are going away this weekend for for our 47th anniversary.
  5. Gee was a little disappointed with giving up the 7 points last night, (j/k) as it did increase the amount of points given up by the #1 defense from 4.8 points a game to 5.16 points a game. Coach Brown and his crew of "D" Coaches has done a wonderful job and I am just wondering when Michael will start getting on some major D1 radar screens.
  6. Correct you are Colonel Fan, it was a sideline warning. WOW the Kid goes for a 68 yard TD on a ESPN highlight film play that literally every local TV station ran at least twice and all some of you want to do is rag on the kid for being happy. :idunno: Darn I see more celebration on a TD each Sunday from NFL players and on Saturday from the NCAA players, than I saw on a HS kid scoring a huge TD, in a game that at the Time was a somewhat tight game! Tough crowd!

  8. A co-worker who is a usher at Nippert said he was surprised at the number given as the attendance. He and the guys he worked with who attend and work all the games thought it was much larger. He said and I am quoting him there wasn't a empty seat in Nippert!
  9. BTW as was posted, it's just not athletics but academics at CovCath. http://bluegrasspreps.com/bgp-break-room/northern-kentucky-high-353412.html

  13. Keep your kids heads up, they will walk away with the 1A state title! They are a great group of kids, they play hard and didn't quit and I was impressed with the Beechwood fan base, as they stayed until the bitter end and never stopped cheering their kids on! :thumb:
  14. Cord of Wood "Someone at Cov Cath told me he was worried. That is why I take BW by 8". Theoldguy wasn't worried at all, he was just not wanting to take the bait and let the team do it's thing. I didn't care if it was by 1 or a 101, or, as it turned out by 34 points, a W is still a W. BTW Beechwood will win the 1 A State Championship they are a very good team but Ryle, LexCath and Kings all would beat them.

  17. Had it at the Tap Room, liked it, even took some cans home to have. You can actually taste the Blueberry in the drink, now the crust is another matter but the Blueberry flavor is really pretty good.
  18. Don't know why anyone in the local area wouldn't be at this game (correct VOR) but if you can't make it to Ft. Mitchell Friday night, you can listen to the live CovCath Internet Radio Broadcast with Mark and Kevin. National High School Broadcast Network
  19. Running clock or a win by only 1, doesn't really matter, as ether way, it's a "W" and that is all that matters.
  20. It's a rivalry game plan and simple and it is played each year because it packs in the fans from each team, which brings in the much needed revenue for both schools. There is really no cost to travel, the local bars and restaurant love it, as prior to and after the game they will all be packed as the Red Tigers and the Blue Colonels fans will sit down together and have a beer because they are in reality neighbors or in fact relatives.
