  1. HS sports are intended for HS kids and I won't change my mind and I am sure neither will some of you but.....it is the way I feel and have always felt. I will concede the point of the smaller schools to fill out a Frosh roster but honestly, I don't care one bit about the kid in the 8th Grade being a super star, he can wait his turn.
  2. So just how many schools need 8th graders to field teams? I will give you the smaller schools Dayton, Silver Grove and the like but the Ryle's, SK, Dixie etc? Sorry just because the kid is good, he needs to wait his turn. Never have I see a Prom Queen or a Student Council member not attending HS. HS sports? For HS students!
  3. BTW when on vacation with my Daughter and Son-in-law we visited his base and went to the Commissary and I was surprised to learn from him, that even in the Military, you now must be 21 to drink.
  4. #USOC2017 stats: Djiby Fall of @fccincinnati becomes 1st player in Modern Era to score 4 game-winning goals in a single tournament #FCCincy
  5. FCC moves on to the Final Four and next plays NY Red Bulls..... Wanna bet 40,000 + for this match!
  6. Goal by Djiby Fall, Asst by Hoyte FCC 1-0 in the 68th minute.....
  7. Enjoyable 1st half between FCC and MFC and it's sorta of neat, as you can clearly hear the FCC fans big time cheering on their team. Nil, Nil at the half!
  8. The downside is that they don't attend High School! Let the kids who attend High School play high School sports and let the few super star 8 graders wait until next year to play.
  9. Just a heads up if you're attending the Soccarma at CovCath! Seating will only be allowed on the visitors side of the field.
  10. And don't forget when you look at the Tuition bill at CovCath you aren't looking at what that family is also paying for little Brother who is attending a Catholic Grade School and a Sister who is attending NDA. It starts adding up pretty quickly, but a lot do it and sacrifice a lot to get a Catholic Education for their children, oh and please don't forget, they still are paying their taxes to the Public Schools.
  11. Thank you all for the help. Love the idea of going on the 3/4 day land cruise, then a 7 day cruises on Princess Cruise Line Alaska Cruisetours - Princess Cruises Have always wanted to see Denali National Park. Also found out a former co-worker of "The Boss" is a travel agent. The cost might be too much to go on the 3/4 day land trip but if we only get a inside rooms and not a balcony, we might be able to swing it, at least it's worth looking into.
  12. "The Boss" and I have been lucky enough to have visited every State in the USA except for Alaska. In 2018 if our health continues to be great, we want to go to Alaska. We have been told that an Alaskan Cruise is the way to go and yes we have been on a Cruise years and years ago to the Caribbean. We would prefer not to travel on one of the Huge Cruise Boats, due to the crowds and we want to spend our money on seeing Alaska not on eating and drinking at some fancy restaurants on the ship but then again we aren't into the total adventure thing either. We have no problem with hiking, but rafting down an icy cold river isn't quite our speed either. Would like to leave from Seattle but have no trouble with leaving from any port in Alaska. Would love to visit Denali National Park, Glacier Bay and Kenai Fjords but are open to any places during our trip. I understand this will cost some $$$$ but this is something we really want to do before we can't and I am looking at this as more of our 50th wedding anniversary gift to ourselves. No, it will be only our 48th year in 2018 but who knows what will happen over the course of the next few years health wise and it is something we really, really want to do, while we still can. Also can anyone suggest a quality Travel Agency in the Local NKy, Cincinnati area? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions. TOG
  13. Strange how the mind works and how what might have been seen by the couple, as the best way out for them and thus their children, will affect their children far worse in the long term. Sad really for all their family and friends.
  14. All is good but: What you think is preaching is what he thinks is teaching. Strange how words, almost spelled the same, (PR) or (T) eaching can be taking so differently by two people.
  15. Up on my soapbox: Love attending the matches, love Nippert, Love what FCC has brought to Cincinnati but...... Can't someone at FCC or at least at UC paint row numbers on the steps, so ticket holders know what row number it is? Can't someone with a little fan friendly smarts at FCC, realize that not everyone has attended matches at Nippert and they don't know that row 3 is the first row! So many first time fans and of course without the help of the ushers who seem to care less, sit in the wrong rows thinking they are in row 5 when in fact they are sitting in row 7. Why can't there be stats of the matches or at least some more information given to the fans attending the matches on the scoreboard? Would have been nice seeing at halftime the stats of the match or at least at the end of the match. Come on FCC, treat me better at the matches by giving me the same information, as you do when I watch the matches at home for free! Maybe it's just me, but the louder speakers are terrible. Last weeks match we were under the stands and they were giving out information about the weather and nobody around us could understand what was being said. UC spends millions on upgrading Nippert but doesn't seem to spend a dime on the public address speakers? Down off my soapbox
  16. I was at the match and to say subpar would be putting it far too kindly. I told "The Boss" in the 14th minute that Guido was losing control of the match, as he was letting far too many little things go by without warnings and as the match continued, he then went off on completely the other way in giving out yellows. The turning point to me at least was two plays that Rochester committed that basicly nothing was done about. 1) Forget the minute but the Rhino's Goalie not agreeing with Guido call kicks the ball way, way out of play, clearly a delay of game penalty but Guido says nothging 2) #17 Fall, who the FCC fans were ragging on all night long (and for good reason) after scoring a PK, goes off on the fans, Guido gives Fall a Yellow for it, (I guess for unsportsmanlike penalty?) but then Fall runs from Guido and mocks Guido and Guido doesn't do anything, which really, really surprised me. Honestly Koch needs to learn to get his team ready for each match at the start of the match, as again last night the boys just seemed to come out entirely flat, until after the Rhino's 1st goal.
  17. Deuce, I don't think the gentleman was preaching, but instead teaching! Maybe as a child you considered your Mother or Father or a Teacher telling you something you heard before or didn't agree with or thought you already knew, as preaching but they instead were trying to Teach you something, or as my Father did, tried to drive it into my young thick skull back in the day. Believe it or not you learn, even as you grow older you learn and some of the things I did in my stupid youth, I laugh at today.

  23. Not to me at least, with the amount of times Coach Mack has been at CovCath watching! Reminds me of back in the day when Randy Noll was being recruited and wound up at UK!
