#6 is a bear. Takes a straight, a very straight, iron shot and an almost perfect approach shot for success on the hole (or get lucky). My favorite hole on the course is #3. Par 3 over water.

Why Wednesday? Last year they announced the team directly after the tryout.

I would say that he is a proven winner considering that throughout his Sophomore through Senior years his squad went to the Elite Eight every season.

Vincent Crutcher of PRP became the third Kentuckian to sign with the Eagles since the hiring of new Morehead coach Donnie Tyndall. He will join Maze Stallworth (John Hardin) and Dan Penick (Ludlow) in the freshman class of 06-07.

What about MCC? Tough course: small greens and a lot of iron tee shots.

About 6'5'' and 210 pounds. I heard some JuCo schools and Tennessee Tech were looking at him out of HS. Anybody got anything?

Matt Morris Franklin Simpson HS Class of 2005 I got to see him play quite a few times after his Junior year. I also saw him a couple of times after his Senior Year. A solid post player with great hops. I know a few schools were recruiting him. Does anybody know where this kid went to College?

Yes it does. I got to know Coach Hayes when he coached one of the teams that I played on after HS. Good guy and good coach. Good luck to him.

I got to play 36 holes over my Easter Break. The weather was beautiful, but the wind played a factor in a lot of my shots. I shot 88-82 on consecutive days. I'll take that for my first two times playing all year. I usually don't get started until June. Hopefully my scores keep getting lower. Any other golf stories, scores, etc. from Easter weekend?

I have been there twice. Unfortunately I haven't been there since October 2000. The first time I was there I got to play the course because my cousin was playing in a practice round. The second time I was there to watch the same cousin play in the Boys HS state golf tourney. That right there should tell you that it is not a bad course. It's like a usual state park course: tight, lots of trees and hills, greens could be better, etc. Don't remember the green fee, but I don't think it was expensive at all. Overall I was pleased with my trip to Barren County. Hopefully you will be pleased as well.

Congrats to Walt for winning this prestigious award. Also, my hats off to him for a great career.

Congrats to Coach Biggs. I've known Buddy for almost five years now and he has always been a great competitor and good coach. He deserves this award.

This website is called bluegrasspreps.com. It is a forum about Kentucky High School basketball. Panther said that Pendleton County would finish 7th next year in the 10th. I disagreed with him and said I think they will finish higher. That is just my opinion. I'm sorry if this made anyone angry.

1) When I said Coaching, I wasn't specifically talking about only Coach Biggs. If Coach Biggs does not return(and I hope that he does), this will most definitely leave the head coaching job available for 6th year assistant Chad Simms. Since Coach Simms came from Mason County along with Biggs, PC will run the same exact system. Not to mention that two other assistants that have been apart of the success will return along with Simms(if this does happen). These two coaches are former player Brad Cox and Freshman coach Michael Miller. 2) Like I said in the previous post I am not talking about individual experience, I am talking about building on a great two year run with solid players who were involved in the practices everyday. Belcher along with Jeremy Mudd, Abram Crozier and Kyle Feeback will provide the young team with energy to try to continue winning. 3) When you say that I am referring to Varsity potential based on JV experience, yes I did. I said that that during the 06-07 season, PC will finish higher than 7th based on solid JV players and one varsity starter. It's not like I said that they were going to win the whole region. If I remember correctly, you made some posts last spring, summer and fall saying that Bishop Brossart was going to win the 10th region because they had an undefeated JV team. For one, that definitely did not happen and two, I think that Brossart should just focus on beating Pendleton for the first time in six tries.

The reasons that I think that Pendleton County will finish higher than 7th is because of coaching, team experience, and solid players. The coaching staff at PC has been there for 5 years now. The kids have bought in to a great system(The results explain that). Team Experience. I don't mean players with big-game varsity experience, I mean the team as a whole. Players who will play varsity in the 06-07 season were on two teams that went a combined 57-9 the past two years. This success will lead to a solid team this year. Solid Players. The JV team finished around .500 and they will surround themselves around a potential all-region player. With this said, I think they will finish the season higher than .500 and higher than 7th in the region.

Patrick Sparks would be a great "Billy Hoyle" anywhere he went. He doesn't really look athletic or talented as a basketball player, but he can play. He can really play. He was a starter for three straight seasons(one at WKU, two at UK) and he never averaged less than 10.7 ppg in college. If he doesn't make it playing professional anywhere, I could see him going to Venice Beach, California to hustle players out there. :lol:
