The state championship, runner up, and two final fours that the 8th region have belong to a team thats not even in the region anymore.

We have had two Mr. Basketballs Rick Jones and Scott Hundley. Matt Walls my be who you are thinking about. He started several games last year for Marshall as a Freshman and now plays at Georgetown College. Scott County has had six kids transfer in that have played major minutes in Hicks 15 years at Scott Co. They are Rick Jones, Scott Hundley, Euton, Guyn, Jackson, and Flannery. They have had far more move out than move in.

Scott Hundley was the sixth man of the year in the SEC his senior year. There are very few coaches in the state that have put more players in college than Billy Hicks.

Manning starts, he had 7 pts and 5 rebounds tonight.

In the first half Scott County really struggled with Dunbars zone. Took way to many outside shots. Second half was a different story, Scott scored over 50 points as they shot 66% from the field in the second half and held Dunbar to 33% for the second half. I believe Scott County came in a little big headed after the big win against Bryan Station.

Maxpreps has six teams in the top 25 with a harder schedule than Holmes.

So how do you put so much stock in the Scott County game it was their 4th game of the year. Is there that much difference in 2 games?

You also havent played alot of teams that score alot of points either. I believe that Holmes is a excellent team and you have won 15 in a row but your schedule hasnt been that difficult either.

Scott Co. has beat 5 of those teams in the top 20. Six if you count Male in scrimmage. :thumb:

Great high school basketball game. Mason probably deserved this game more than Scott Co. They hustled and played very hard all night. Georgetown College will have the best backcourt in the NAIA next year with Walls and Middleton.

Scott County has almost dominated this series. Hicks has never lost to a Mason Co. team that was not led by Chris Lofton. I believe he has only lost three games to Mason Co in a series that has been going on for at least 10 years.

Guyn missed a jumper and Manning missed a layup with a little over two minutes left that would have cut the game to two.

What I was getting at that on a computer poll a big portion of how the poll was put together was margin of victory. Holmes is a good team they could be ranked #1 and I would have no problem with it. But they have put up a few bad games that will go against them in a computer poll.
