1) Lincoln- at the top until someone knocks them off 2) McCreary - Has the best offensive team, and are hungry for wins Can they defend a good big man in the post? 3) Somerset- Have the experience, talent and coaching to get to Rupp. They need a point guard to step up so Price can go back to the shooting guard. 4) West Jessamine- Play hard and on any given night could beat anyone 5) Wayne Co.-When Decker realizes he is 6'7" and starts posting up, they will be a tough out. (Dont let the big margin losses fool you) 6) Garrad Co.- I haven't seen them play, but according to their record they must be pretty good. 7) Boyle Co.- Are not playing their best ball right now. 8) Mercer Co.- Athletic but young 9) Pulaski Co.- When they get Dixson back, and the football out of Muse they will tough. Whitis may be the most underrated player in the Region. 10) Southwestern- Getting better every day. 6 of their 8 losses are by 5 points or less. Trevor Jones is one of the better players in the region.And If TT starts playing up to his potential every game then the Warriors will be tough game out come tourney time. 11) East Jessamine- Have been playing without their best player 12) Monticello- Coach Upchurch has done an outstanding job. He should be coach of the year for what he has done at Monticello. This time last year the Monticello Team was only a slight favorite over bye. This year they are competing. With a two point loss to SW and a win over Casey Co. proves they are team that has improved vastly. 13) Rockcastle Co.- Have the talent, just need experience and confidence. 14) Casey Co.- ???? beat Somerset, PC, SW and lose to Monticello and a bad team from Tenn. ???? Can they recover from a midseason meltdown??? 15) Danville- SSF said it best "Darn Transfers" 16) Burgin- 17) KSD-

Saw this score on the scoreboard. I thought this would be a much closer game. Anyone have any stats on this one?

If their is already another thread on this then please merge. I saw on the news this evening that the gym in Leslie Co. burned, due to a fire that started in the boiler room. Leslie Co. had to cancel tonights game because their uniforms were lost in the fire. The news said the gym was famous because Richard Nixon once made a speech there after he got impeached. My prayers go out to those student athletes who are affected by this fire.

With Macon gone, Somerset can go ahead and make their reservations.

A good basketball player left Danville and did not end up at Boyle Co. or Lincoln Co.? How can this be?

I think the Raiders will win in a close one, if they come in focused and bring their "A" game. If they come in overconfident and they "think" they are 24 points better than Wayne then McCreary will lose.

I agree that Monticello is playing some good ball right now. But they have no answer for Bourne. Danville is to athletic for Burgin. Somersets run to Richmond will continue one more year as they will win in a barnburner.

Pulaski led at the half by 4. But 2nd half cold shooting doomed the Maroons. Still it was valient effort by PC, considering they had to play without their leading scorer Adam Dixson. Congrats to Somerset who continue to roll. I think this is 6 in a row now.

It was a fun game to watch. Cory Price had an awesome game. This kid can play.

Saturdays Schedule 12:00 Southwestern vs. Lee Co. 1:45- Bell Co. vs Walton Verona 3:30 North Laurel vs Louisville Southern 5:15 Somerset vs Grayson Co. (Championship) I am not 100% sure on the game times. I do know that the first game is scheduled to start at noon. And I think they scheduled games every 1:45. Fridays results Walton Verona beat SW by about 9 points Bell Co beat Lee Co. by about 3 points in overtime Grayson Co beat North Laurel by about 4 points Somerset beat Louisville Southern by 2 points

I wouldn't put alot of stalk in the final margins of Wayne County's Losses. Rodney Woods is a master of turning a 10 point loss into a 24 point loss. And then when the other team gets overconfident they bust them in tournament time. I heard the game with McCreary was a 10 point game in the fourth Quarter and he subbed and got beat by 24. I wasn't there but that is what I was told. With that said I agree that McCreary is a better team than Wayne this year. And I believe McCreary will give Lincoln all they want and then some on most Nights.

I think that was their BCS rating.:eek:

East should get back their star player that has been out since the Corbin game. He will make them alot better.

Wayne County dominated SW on the boards 38 - 16. In fact Wayne Co. had more offensive rebounds (18) than SW had total rebounds. However Wayne Co. did not look like the regional favorite tonight as they comitted 22 turnovers. They are going to have to improve on this aspect of their game. But I respect Coach Woods and I believe Wayne Co. will only improve as the season progresses. Southwestern is in dire need of some leadership, mental and physical toughness. Until this happens it is going to be a long season for the Warrior nation.

What week in the season is the classic. Doesn't Danville usually host a bowl game the first week of the season?

The only system worse than the BCS would be one in which the losers advance and the winners were sent home. We need to get back on topic before we get a padlock. Are their any stats from this game besides Somerset having a bunch of turnovers. How did Casey contain Bourne?

With this kind of parity, I think the KHSAA should do away with District Tournaments in the 12th Region Tournament and even eliminate the 12th Region Tournament. We should adopt the BCS system since it works so well in college football.
