I've heard recently that Highlands has been one of the teams invited down for the Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic here in Corbin starting in 2009. I wasn't sure if it was just wishful thinking or if they have been approached? If so, it would be awesome to have you guys down.

 

Teams usually sign 2 year contracts for this bowl. Another rumored team is Danville. I'm not sure of a 3rd team or if any of these rumors of Highlands and Danville are legit but the format would go something like this. Assuming Danville and Highlands do come down, I'll use Bell County as an example for the 3rd team.

 

These matchups are hypothetical but shows how it works.

Danville vs. Bell County

Corbin vs. Highlands

 

2010

 

Bell vs. Highlands

Corbin vs. Danville

Maybe Danville but I would not see Corbin brining in HHS and especially Bell. Would be very good Bowl for two years and bring some hype back to the bowl! Lets hope it happens but I seriously doubt it.

B/C they would have to play HHS and they will not play Bell anytime soon.

Why would they not ask Highlands and Bell?

 

They would gladly invite Highlands ............but I seriously doubt Bell Co. getting an invitation as long as the current coaching staffs are in place, and as nees1212 pointed out, Bell was only being used as an example.

Yes

Danville has played in the Cumberland Falls before and Corbin usually plays in Danville's bowl game about every 6 years or so. They played in 99, 00 (vs. Garrard, vs. Danville) and 06,07 (vs. Southwestern vs. Rockcastle). This year Corbin opened up in the Pike County bowl so I'd say that the Cumberland Falls is the second weekend of the season. However, it did used to be in week one.
