Nice win for the Rockets...I too thought this would be a little closer with the Rockets still winning. Should be a great game Friday night up in Crittenden County with the winner moving on to the state semi's.

I believe that the Rockets will win...but the question is by how much. It is hard to beat a team twice in one season, and have to give Coach Cooper at Ballard credit for getting the Bombers to where they are. It is also hard to get your kids fired up to play a team they beat handily during the regular season, plus it is hard for 15,16,17, and 18 year old kids to not think about the next round with either a possible rematch with Mayfield at home, or having to make a road trip to Holy Cross for the regional title. IMO the Rockets win...but a little closer this time...28-14

Trust me...no one from Mayfield thinks that Holy Cross is a slouch by any means...we know exactly what Holy Cross has accomplished the past few years in high school football. You have our utmost respect and we are anticipating a very combative and clean game this Friday night.

Mayfield will be leaving Friday morning and taking a couple of Chartered Buses up to Louisville...so the trip will not be that bad. Normally what Mayfield does is leave early...go up and eat lunch and then get some hotel rooms for the afternoon to rest up before the game. The coaches like doing this better so that the kids can sleep in their own beds the night before, and getting them up there early will also give them a chance to get their legs back after the 4-hour trip. So the travel should not be an issue.

From what I have heard it will be a battle of Holy Cross's size and power versus Mayfield's speed and athleticism. Key for Mayfield will be how well we handle the long bus ride and how we react if we get down early. We are not a great come from behind team...however if we get on top early we have shown we are a great front runner team. Another big key will be will it be the team that doesn't turn it over...if this team shows up then I think we have a great chance to move on...if it is the team that turns it over if a slight breeze blows thru then we will have a long bus ride home Friday night.

Good win for the Cards on a nasty night with rain and high winds during the whole game. Slow 1st qtr but turned it around in the 2nd with 4TD's and put it on cruise control in the 2nd half with the starters being pulled midway thru the 3rd qtr with the score 44-0. Starting Defense only gave up 42 yards of total offense before being pulled in the 3rd. Now if we can only keep up that type of play this Friday as we head to take on Louisville Holy Cross up in Louisville.
