Need a poll added to this baby if a mod can be of help it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a tale of 2 teams that have under achieved all year in the eyes of many like myself. I know little of HC other than the obvious from looking at scores and getting the input of a few that have watched both play. Mayfield enters fairly physically healthy but mentally has major question marks. If anyone can shed some light on HC I would love to hear more about them. I will take my beloved Cards to remain mentally stable for one more week and win this one by 14 based on me being a homer and wanting to see the Cards stay alive for another week. :thumb:

There you go.

Louisville Holy Cross is hurting with injuries this year . They have had an up and down year to say the least but were beat by 3 ranked teams in Belfry , Doss and Desales . They also lost to 6A Butler that was the low point of the season . If they play their game they will win on Friday but who knows who will show up . They have had a bad tendency to start games off very slow and wait until the 2nd half to play their game . If they do that this week they will dig a hole that they cannot get out of . I see Holy Cross winning a close one because of Home Field advantage and the fact that they didn't have to travel 4 hours .

From what I have heard it will be a battle of Holy Cross's size and power versus Mayfield's speed and athleticism. Key for Mayfield will be how well we handle the long bus ride and how we react if we get down early. We are not a great come from behind team...however if we get on top early we have shown we are a great front runner team. Another big key will be will it be the team that doesn't turn it over...if this team shows up then I think we have a great chance to move on...if it is the team that turns it over if a slight breeze blows thru then we will have a long bus ride home Friday night.

Mayfield 27-15.

When is Mayfield leaving?

Mayfield 22-14

Mayfield will be leaving Friday morning and taking a couple of Chartered Buses up to Louisville...so the trip will not be that bad. Normally what Mayfield does is leave early...go up and eat lunch and then get some hotel rooms for the afternoon to rest up before the game. The coaches like doing this better so that the kids can sleep in their own beds the night before, and getting them up there early will also give them a chance to get their legs back after the 4-hour trip. So the travel should not be an issue.

Best of luck and have a safe trip . Go Cougars !!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna be bitter cold...I'll take the home team and a pretty good power running game.

I haven't seen Mayfield, but have seen HC, and concur with Cougar about the Cougars sometimes starting slow. Better not do that in another game or that will probably be HC's last game.

Its ironic because that describes this Mayfield team to a tee. If or when they build a lead, it seems that the momentum compounds our efforts and we really start kicking tail. But if the other team takes the lead early, this is Mayfield's kryptonite. The only thing that worries me about this game is stopping Holy Cross's rushing attack.....it seems like they might be able to control the game more if they are moving the ball well. I don't see Mayfield having trouble moving the ball. Regardless, this seems like it will be a close one, which isn't what the poll shows.

Holy Cross is nursing a number of injuries. Some key players are banged up. Holy Cross has a great football tradition, but this year has been a challenging one. The loss to Butler, though a 6A school, was a low point. The loss to Doss was to a quality 5A school, who beat a presviously unbeaten John Hardin. The one-sided loss to Southend Louisville rival, Desales, was painful as well. But Desales was in last years 2A state semi-finals. I wish both teams well, but I hope that Holy Cross can finish strong and pull out a victory.
