6-0 Ryle. Ryle has over 70 freshmen out this year. No one is playing both ways for Ryle at this point.

Good choice! Congratulations to Coach Mullins. He worked with our freshmen this summer and I was impressed with his ability to teach. The boys really like playing for him.

Ryle's freshmen just won the NKY freshmen tournament, 6th 7th win their BKAC tournaments. 8th wins the BKAC, Holiday, St Joe, and Campbell Co. tournaments but it doesn't carry over to varsity. What is the problem?

Neither of which should be at Kentucky as shouldn't Owens. He should hope for Morehead.

I don't mean to hurt any feelings but if Kentucky were to let Owens even walk on it would be a mistake. 16th Region talent and SEC talent are worlds apart.

In the St. Joes tourney, Gray beat St Joe Cold Spring, Our Lady of Lourdes (Elder in Cincy) by 14, and St Joe Crescent Springs by 18.

It may all be settled soon. Most of the teams mentioned and others from Central and Eastern Ky are playing in the BCI State Middle School Tournament at Sports of all Sorts in Florence. Get out and watch some great up and coming teams this weekend. We will see who is best.

Morgan loses to the tournament champ. Morgan played poorly but Beechwood is 6-0. They have a very good team.

Depends on who they play.

Records so far among those schools mentioned, class of 2010, 6th grade to current 8th grade season Gray vs. Ockerman 3-2 Gray vs. Turkeyfoot 5-1 Gray vs. Highlands 1-2 I don't know Ockerman, Turkeyfoot, and Highlands record against each other, maybe someone can enlighten us. All games have been close between these schools. As for the Catholic schools, Gray is the only public school in the St Joes tourney next week. We will see how they do then. You can throw out the AAU records because Gray has two AAU teams, Ockermans AAU plays with kids from other areas of the state, most of Turkeyfoots team plays together but one of their best players plays for someone else. As another post says, a lot can change over the next few years. Kids transfer, move in, grow, stop growing, improve or don't improve and so on.

I haven't been able to see the Cougars this year, only what I've read on here. I did watch the Ryle-Beechwood game last night. If Morgan can hold Romes down, I think they can win by double digits. That of course is based upon what everyone says Morgan's strengths are. You better believe I'll be there to cheer them on Tuesday!

I've only been following NKY high school for 3 years, but I've watched the Gray program and the Gray kids that are playing AAU during that time and there is a ton of talent from the 6th grade to the current soph class.

Derby City Ballers finished 2nd in Division II State. They didn't attend the National Tourney. Ark played for the Louisville Yellow Jackets last year.

If this is a tournament, I say Morgan County takes it all.

Arkansas has played in a league and a few tournaments for me and I can say he has always treated our coaches and players with respect. He is an outstanding athlete. He is much more physically mature than any 8th grader that I have seen. Very good kid and player.

He did throw a good ball, but I think it is an odd time to make a change too. Anyone have any inside knowledge on this move?

I found it interesting that Ryle went with the 2nd string QB all night. They moved the first string QB to wide receiver. :confused:

There was a ton of laundry on the field. Everytime Ryle seemed to be moving the ball, they would screw it up with a hold or procedure call. Ryle really shot themselves in the foot tonight with penalties. FC had a lot of penalties too. I think it pretty much evened out. These officials had the game under control. Last week, the officials looked like they had not worked together before. They seemed to be confused all night, changing calls and having discussions. Anytime the officials don't seem to be in control of a game, the fans will be all over them.

Black played the entire game. He had a few good runs in the first half. Ryle seemed to stop him in the second half (rushing) but he had a great second half passing. 3 passing TDs, two of which were 40+ yard TD passes. On 4th and 9 with 3 minutes to go in the 4th he scrambled forever to eventually pass for a TD to put FC up 21-20.
