IMO the 2 best people for the job are Mason or Cleavenger. I doubt that either would take the job at this point.

Sorry, in reading my post I used poor wording, I didn't mean to imply he was leaving because of Jaggers. Just that the head coach opening would keep him at Mercer. He lives in Boyle, his kids go to school there, wife works there.

From what I was told, Mason was looking to go to Boyle if Jaggers stayed. He is very interested in the HC job at Mercer, has applied, and is one of the final candidates. Don't take it as gospel, but that's what I heard from someone close to what's going on.

Dennis Johnson would be a huge mistake.

2 State Titles. As a parent of both a band student and a football student I can tell you that there is no over the top support for the band that folks are suggesting. The band boosters work just as hard (probably harder) than any sports boosters.

Final. West went up 4-0 in the 1st. Mercer battled back for the win.

What a great game this was. East scored in the top of the 6th on a passed ball. Making it 1-0. Bottom of 7th Mercer's catcher hit a solo shot to make it 1-1. East then committed 2 errors putting runners on 1st and 3rd. Mercer's pitcher shoots one up the middle for a basehit to score the winning run. Both pitcher's threw great ballgames.

I will be interested to here the verdict when it comes back. I was at a minor league ballgame some years ago and a very similar play happened. The umpires did not allow the run. I know there are some differences between pro and high school ball, but I would think this one would be the same, and am curious if those umps got it wrong. By the way, didn't something weird like this happen in a Dodgers game this year. I don't know the details, but I do remember the Dodgers getting the run.

Mercer lost a ton of talent. 26 seniors. Of the starters from last year, I think they return: On offense QB, G, T, & WR. On defense S, S, CB, & Nose Lost all RBs, LBs, and most of both lines. Also, no one seems to know 100% if Jaggers will be the coach next year. I'm assuming he is, but no one is giving a straight answer.

Mercer will be solid, but they did lose nine seniors off of last years squad.

I like the switching of refs between regions. While I think the majority of refs out there are there because they like the game and try their best to do a good job (I'm not talking about the 9th or 16th specifically), I believe there are good refs(love it when they show up), bad refs (wish they would go back to rec league) and there are some that show favoritism. I personally feel that by switching regions, you hopefully at least eliminate the favoritism part.

I guessing, Rock vs Casey for the championship. These two know each other very well. I have several friends from Rockcastle so I'll be cheering for them, but I think Casey is the team to beat and would have to give them the nod. But until then. I'm hoping for the huge upset. Go Titans!

Mercer smoked them in the first half, something like 29-7. Then held on for dear life. Was a 4-5 point games with 2 minutes or so left.

Casey is going to be awful tough to beat. They look like the best in the region to me.

I can only pass on what I have heard other people say. But it seems the Mercer coach doesn't like football players. In fact a senior football player, who had been on the basketball team for the prior 3 years, was cut. Another senior football player, who had started some games but was mostly the 6th man the year before was pretty much told there was much need for him, still went out played about 1 minute total in the first 2 or 3 games and then left the team. Another left the team mid season.
