I like that, ... the governors! Works for me! I also like the unusual nicknames. Somerset Briarjumpers, ... but my favorite was when I lived in WV and heard about the Poca Dots for the first time.

I didn't see it, but I remember hearing about it. I heard it left some jaws on the floor!

I think I have a copy of their highlight video from that season and will try to find it and post it. I remember that Coach Daniel Brown was the head coach and he had a delayed reaction to the dunk where you can tell it took a couple of seconds for what just happened to sink in. I also remember the NL student section going absolutely bonkers. I think it either tied the game of gave NL the lead.

I have had a few favorites that I saw in person. 1. Mike White with a 2 hand put back dunk in a North Laurel vs South Laurel game several years ago. It was sick. 2. Mason Plumlee in the Laurel County Hoopfest last year had a few tremendous dunks. 3. Randy Moss in HS in West Virginia. He had a 1 hander off a lob from Jason Williams in a HS game (at GW I think, but not sure) that was just disgusting.

From 3:35 on a few pretty awesome dunks. I believe the one hander at Rupp is around 3:50

I only caught the 4th quarter, but it was a very exciting game.

For one of the few times in school history, North Laurel's girls have defeated South Laurel at South. North led by as much as 15 points and by double digits most of the game. South trailed by 13 and made a furious comeback in the final minutes but fell short. North has a lot of youth (only 2 seniors are really seeing much PT) and recovered from the past 4-5 games where they haven't played as well as they did early.

I am thinking Rotundi on the outside and a few different out of the backfield.

Dylan Baker had a phenomenal season. Hadn't played since 8th grade, and led the team in tackles. I would love to have seen where he would have been had he played all 4 years. Wardrup & Fugate played occasionally on defense. I think Prewitt went both ways on the line sometimes.

Good to see that Coach Hood has finally gotten EKU in the hunt for in state players. For years, they did not do that. Good pickup. I had the pleasure of seeing this young man play and he is solid!

That is true. If you play hard and does what he needs you to do, you will play.

It was a great call. Wardrup drew so much focus that when he took the pitch, it left Rotundi wide open in the end zone. It was a very smart call and Rotundi sold it with a great acting job like he was trying to block the DB. The defense committed and left him wide open. That game with PC was a very exciting game from beginning to end. Both teams making big plays all night. NL just had one more in their bag than PC did that night. That is the one thing I will miss about there not being a rematch this year, ... I think it would have been a great game. But I understand and look forward to seeing who NL will open the season with. I have a feeling it will be a 6A team. Just a hunch. I think NL will run the TB by committee with Rotundi, Wagers and Williams splitting most of the carries. If Larkey can get the line to continue to improve and fire off like his dad's teams are known for doing, the Jaguars will be fine.

Who will pick up the rushing load for NL with the graduation of Wardrup?

Back to the topic of the thread, ..... What should the starting O line look like for the Jaguars this year? Which starters return up front for NL?

Love watching that kid play. He is definitely the Redhound's GPS.

Shears was a solid deep threat and was able to outjump many DBs for a lot of his catches. He averaged over 22 yards per reception and made some tremendous catches last year. I don't think NL has a WR with his height, but Rotundi developed into a very nice WR who could get yards after the catch.

You already have beat this to death. And you are right, .. the only way that NL and PC meet now would be in the playoffs. And while NL does need to improve, .... they did beat PC. On that night, like it or not, North Laurel was the better team. But now that PC has an opening and could try and pick up Male or Brentwood Academy, .. that could really bolster their strength of schedule much more than playing poor old pitiful North Laurel who didn't even make the playoffs last year.
