Maybe several others school should see how they do it, and that includes my team COrbin as well.

Clay Co. has played the weaks schedule of all 3A teams in there district and most likely in the state.

Rock 42 Clay 14 : Rock is a little better than McCreary, Evarts and the rest of the teams on Clay schedule. Corbin loves to play teams that like to get stats( like Clay) on weak teams.

Ths sounds like a broken record, same was said last year about Johnson Central, no one wants part of them. Madison Southern wanted it and got it, and Southern was the #3 team in this district. For CLay, they may not, but Bell and Rock will take it any time and any day.

Corbin offense is much better than middlesboro, corbin will get 2 or 3 easy touchdowns against the jackets, because they will try to play man and coach Farris will have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Steve Jewell, Danny Rawlings, Tom Greer, Greg Duncum, best that i can recall they were loaded with Juniors and a few outstanding seniors. Greer and Jewell both signed div.1 1983 was a team that was loaded with talent and about 8 starter back from that state champion team. 1976 team could have been the best in school history.

I would like to comment on this subject: Yes I know a little about the tradition at Corbin. I played on the 76 state champion team and the 77 runner-up team. I really believe that we fell into a pass happy offense several years ago, we lost one of the best high school coaching staff in the state in Cotton Adams,Coach Burchette and Coach Fualkner and several others and never have recovered from it. Back in the day as everyone is saying, we were hard nose and lined up and hit you in the face for 4 quarters, on offense and defense and many of you will say that it can't be done this day and time. WRONG, I watched Bell Co. and the old time coach(Helton) line up and played the old corbin style and beat us for the past three years. Everyone talks about how tuff our schedule is, you want to talk about tuff, look at the 1976, 1977 schedule and the 1980, and 82 schedule and tell me who played the tuffest schedule. Mayfield,Danville,Madison Central, Bryan Station,MIddlesboro and Somerset just to name a few. SOmeone stated that if the kid from Bell would have stayed the out-come may have been different Friday night. We have had several over the past years and still haven't won a state championship. Play with want we have and line up and bust people in the face like the old days. Football is still a very physical game, and we are not physical. Many think that it is a numbers game, we had more on the sideline than Bell or Oldham Co. If we don't have the athletes like the teams we play then my solution is to keep the ball from them. I believe our coaching style needs to change.

Corbin is 1-4 and should be 4-1, I fill we have a problem with getting our players ready for average and below average teams. It amazes me how we can play with Bell Co. and Rockcastle Co. and have a chance to beat both and lose to Oldham Co. and South Laurel. Back to the game, great job by Madon offensively and defensively.

Man you write that yourself? Gave me chill bumps reading this. I agree with you that it was the biggest thing I know I had been apart of in my whole life. I can remember the crowd and how loud it was and seeing our fans jumping over the fences to get out and celebrate. Great moments man. From my perspective the game was big as in the four years that I was there Bell believe it or not hadn't made it to the 3rd round. I know alot of my fellow seniors that was on the field will tell the story of this game to their grandchildren. We battled a group with many big names. and we was a team with one name Bell County. I think that maybe set the tone for the next couple seasons gave Bell county that grit back that it so desperately needed.

Like I have told many people before it is a good rivalry but u can quote me on this Corbin is a much BIGGER game hands down. I know this from my own experience. Ive been envolved in some way or form with both games for a long time now.

I would have to agree with my friend on both of those selections. I would also like to add Lawrence county's field as well. I did not have a good experience at Putnam but had plenty at The Bionic Man's football field. I only played once at Lawrence county's field but it produced my greatest football memory that i was ever envolved in. :ylsuper:

This is for all the past linemen at Bell thats possibly moved away and not heard but the dungeon is dead. Killed by the school system to build a tennis court that will never be used cause its too far for the 6 member team to walk to.

unless someone steps up in the backfield bell will be looking at a long year and not in a good way

rockcastle could possibly be looking at an undefeated record going into the semi's

what will people say when log mountain goes to turf mountain they very well may have to do that since the new tennis courts came in and took over the practice field

if you were at that 2A state game you would have seen Timmy Greer sportin a Bell county jacket while he and others were getting aknowledged for winning the title 25 years ago while playing for corbin

does a coach have to be a teacher and if so what is open at the schools?
